K-1 Police clearance

My interview in 4 days . N got all the documents that I need for my interview . But hear is the thing , just heard bout getting a police clearance from other countries that I been too. Is it true? Does anybody get asked to bring other countries police clearance on k-1 interview or it depends on ur case? Even if I have to how I'm I gonna get other countries police clearance ...smh:/

I have read of those living abroad for a period of time needing to get a police report from that country during the time of stay there. That makes sense no? Not sure how many months the requirement is. You could look that up or wait for a definitive answer. My guess is that the process for requesting a report is similar to other countries.

Do u have any idea how to request .coz I have stayed more than 2 years in 2 diff countries .

You will need police certificates from any countries you have lived in since the age of 16 and over a period of 6 months. I had to obtain a British one as I had lived there for 20 years as well as my Australian one, both were required and looked at in the interview process.

You could try asking in one of the forums or do what I did and try Google. Just type in " How to obtain a police certificate from ..............."

My certificate from the UK took 2 weeks, but try asking on here if any knows how long it takes to get the police check from what ever country it is you require it from. I know some US consulates will let you go ahead with the interview without it but they will put you in AP until they receive it.

Yup and that's what it's gonna happen to .gonna put me in Ap. I searched and it says I have to go the emabssy of the country that I have been and request for it. N it says it takes long time of period to get it or some don't get it at all lol. AnywYs this is what it is. I will find out on Wednesday

If you have friends living in those contries. Try to get help fr them. Just pass them the authorization letter so they can apply in person so it is much faster then you apply from its abroad embassy. Thats my case when I get police clearance in Malaysia. Try to check if you can apply online.
