Visa options for wife's sister

My wife has been here in the U.S. for a year and a half now. She is Filipino and wants her sister to come here and help watch our two children so we can both work. What visa options are there for her sister? I know it would be hard for her to get a tourist visa, but is there anything that is tied in with my wife already being here and them being family? Her sister works on a ship and has a crew visa, not sure if that helps. Any info would be great, thanks.

Yeah, unfortunately your wife can't petition her parents or siblings not until she becomes a citizen. I want to get my mom petitioned too so she can babysit my kids but I still have to wait a year or 2 maybe, and I don't even know how long that petition takes...

Hi,

There is no visa option that will allow her sister to come to the US to care for your children. This is considered work. A tourist visa holder working to care for your children would be violating the terms of the tourist visa.

In the US Government's POV, you can hire a service to care for your children. There is no need for you to import a foreign worker when there are available US workers who can care for your children.

This subject comes up fairly often. The answer is always the same - use a child care service.

Obvious route is the one her Sister took.
