Hey everyone, my interview is on Nov 10th and I am abit nervous as I am sure most of us are to make sure we pass to be with our soul mates

I feel like I am well prepared but my question is do I need fingerprints after I got my police certificate?

This is what it says on the sheet

It says my name and birthday on it and it says reasons for request was travel plus it says..

As you requested on October 13 2015 , a search based on your name and date of birth did not disclose any criminal conviction(s) in the RCMP National Repository of Canadian Criminal Records

This information can only be confirmed by fingerprint comparison. <--- this is the part that concerns me

If anyone had the same police sheet any help is appreciated thank you

specifically I know you should photocopy for sure a colour copy of your passport biographic page, your birth certificate, and your criminal record check.

but personally i'm photocopying everything that is asked for on the P3 checklist. I want to know that I have copies of every single thing i'm bringing with me so that i'll always have access to any/all of the information i've given them and so i'll be able to give them anything they ask for without worrying. if you haven't read the reviews for the consulate yet, i'd definitely reccommend reading those to help you prepare since some people include the interview questions they were asked and some of the documents that were taken.

also i'm not sure if your interview is in Montreal but if you haven't found it yet I found that this thread (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/359761-montreal-consulate-picturesmaps/) is extremely useful and comforting :)

Thank you so much for this advice

My interview is in Vancouver and I feel like I am missing paperwork I should bring

Do you remember what you brought for them to see and what is 100%mandatory to bring?

I'm sorry for the many questions I'm also abit nervous and I have read some of peoples experience but they don't mention what they all brought in detail

You should bring everything on the checklist for sure, but definitely make sure you have your passport and a photocopy of your biographical page, your confirmation page for your DS-120 to prove your payment and that you have signed up for your Loomis confirmation, the letters from the consulate for your appointment (P3 + P4 + interview confirmation e-mail), your long form birth certificate and a photocopy of it, your police check and a photocopy of it, any previous marriage/divorce/etc. documents if they're applicable to you and photocopies of them, you absolutely have to have a letter of intent to marry signed from your Fiance that is no more than thirty days old from your interview date (have your fiance sign it in blue ink so they don't think it's a photocopy), your unopened packet from your medical, two US size passport photos of yourself, the I-134 Affidavit of Support completed by your Fiance and all supporting documents (bank statements, pay stubs, tax transcripts and returns for at least last year but you can go back a couple years if you want to be over prepared, letters from employers, etc. basically the things that will prove he makes over 125% of the poverty line), and Evidence to prove your Fiances domicile to his home country (car insurance payments, apartment lease, drivers license photocopy, life insurance policy, etc. etc. whatever proves he is a citizen of his country).

you can read reviews here, just make sure you comb through for the vancouver ones. some people mention the documents they brought and the questions they were asked: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Canada&page=1&dfilter=5&topic=K1%20Visa

also i'm not sure if this applies to Vancouver, but at the Montreal consulate you can't bring any large bags or backpacks into the building and they will turn you away if you have one. so try and limit it to a folder with just your documents in it and even avoid bringing anything else, including your phone, etc. if you can. organizing everything ahead of time in a folder will also make everything run a lot smoother because you'll be able to give documents faster. And unless you have a 7:40am appointment don't arrive any earlier than 15-30 minutes before your interview or they may turn you away and tell you to come back when it's closer to the time.

I never got a physical copy of the P4, just an e-mail. They probably won't ask for it anyways so you should definitely be fine. It's just something extra to have to be over prepared :)

Anyone know how to acquire Canadian name check whilst outside Canada?

I'm in Australia and need a police check for US immigration. Can't figure out how to get name check without having to provide fingerprints.

(Fingerprinting route is gonna be s long one if I have to do that)

Where did you reside in Canada? I went through the Ottawa police and you have to be physically present and provide an Ottawa address, but looking at the Toronto Police Service's website they accept applications from abroad, providing you have documents notarized...it might be worth looking into further.

And here is info from the RCMP on having finger prints digitized abroad. The processing says its only 3 business days if there are no hits. I can't find the thread but I read about someone here that had their prints digitized through https://www.commissionaires.ca/en/national/service/individual/fingerprinting

Good luck!

I did another quick search and I read a few times that if applying from abroad they need finger prints, I don't know if that still rings true or not. Hopefully someone who actually has experience applying abroad can provide you with a sure answer.
