Filed: AOS (pnd) Country: Germany
Timeline

We're never lucky, so I am kind of in a state of disbelief at the moment. My wife and I filed our AOS at the very beginning of February, and now just a month later we have received notice of our interview which will be taking place barely over two months after filing for Adjustment of status (beginning of April)! Does this mean, that if all goes well in this so called "initial interview" she may have permanent resident status as early as 2 months after we submitted the papers (or at least most likely within weeks after the interview)? This sounds way way way too good to be true!

Also, while I am posting, she has a flight planned for Late April, which we booked under the hope she'd have her Advance Parole by then. If she's out of the country when permanent status is ("knock on wood") granted, could this be a problem in any way?

Thanks,

Tim und Ina

Wow, congrats and goodluck at your interview. Well, if you have the advanced parole by then then it shouldn't be a problem unless they ask for it at the interview. But, you can tell them that she has to leave the country and maybe they will make the appropriate amends. And if the greencard gets to her before she leaves. . . all the better!
