I'm working on the I-864EZ in anticipation of the I-130 for my husband being approved, and I have a quick question. I've got my 2014, 2013 and 2012 tax transcripts from the IRS, and my 2014 shows sufficient income under the I-864P form, but my 2013 and 2012 do not (I was in law school). They show a minimal income (under $1,000), although I was earning more in Canada at the time. Should I include the 2013 and 2012 tax transcripts or do they have the potential to give a negative impression of my income or cause a checklist? Thanks for your help!

Hi,

You're only required to submit the most recent IRS tax transcripts and they look at your current income so your past income won't have a negative effect. I think they ask for those years in order to see if you have a stable and consistent income.

You don't need to include the past returns, just enter the number on the appropriate field on the form.
