Okay, so my husband filled out the W7 and sent it to me. I went to H&R Block to file my taxes. I did a married filing jointly. They told me to send my return with his W7 and the notarized copy of his passport to the address given. I went to the post office today to mail everything. I noticed that it asked for my husband's signature if we are filing jointly! H&R Block failed to mention this to me. I had spoken to the IRS a few weeks ago (for about 2 hours) and they never told me this either! Do I now need my husband to sign before I mail this off???? This is such a pain! I guess since I am going in a few weeks for his interview, I will just have him sign when I go, but I was hoping to get this taken care of now so we can have some money for his flight home!!!!!!

Any suggestions????????

I was told by the IRS hotline that if you husbands agrees, you can sign the form for him if he is unavailable to do it himself....this was a few years ago when I needed to do this but I would call and ask if that is still allowable.
