My wife (immigrant) is changing her name to her married name on the I-751 because we mistakenly filed the CR1 in her maiden name. All her IDs, accounts, and green card are in her maiden name.

So we are putting her married name in I751 in Part 1 #1 abc and her maiden name in Part 1 #2 abc as I've read here and other places.

However, on the final page of the I-751 where she has to print and sign her name, which name should she use? I'm thinking it should be her maiden name since that is her currently her legal name.

Thank you

I have the same situation as your wife, my CR1 visa was under my maiden name so as my green card and all ID's, but when we filed joint petition to remove the conditions on my residency, I called first at USCIS customer hotline, they advised me to use my "married name" because that's my legal name, I just include a personal letter together with the I-751 joint petition. When I got my NOA and Biometrics appointment, they addressed me by my married name. Hope my inputs helps. Good luck to you and your wife.
