Before you open the flood gates here, please clarify what you mean in your posting

Oh! WOW! I don't know your troubles but, it sounds like a lot to intake. I do have a few questions if you don't mind. As far as the animal abuse goes have you taken your animal to the vet to see if the problems could have come from other factors? And now to the domestic violence and the several reports that you have made, have the authorizes files charges? And if you are trying to get away from this man your husband if someone else is to support him make that the last thing to worry over and get yourself free from all the danger just my opinion and I wish you much success getting thur this situation.

I will try to not make this lengthy. My husband came here on a K-1 Visa and arrived October 2014.

We married in January 2015, that late, due to his temper. I should have listed to my gut and just forgot about everything and dropped it. But I really wanted to make it work and thought he just needed time to adjust.

Well it's been a year now. That includes over 5 domestic abuse reports against him, him being in jail once, and abuse against my animals.

I have no proof of him hurting my animals but they run for cover every time he walks inside... and the BRUISE on my dog's belly and giant bump on his back.

I CANNOT take this!! I need advice.

He was sent a letter that said he may or may not have an interview for his green card. This is where we're at in this moment.

Of course get a divorce. But wouldn't that just be letting him off the hook? Then he could fill out more paperwork that says it didn't work out?

If I remove myself as a petitioner - can't he just find someone else to petition for him?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. At this point he rubs it in my face that he is in the United States.

Sorry to say but u have been used to bring him USA. He live leagle ,illeagle ,or got caught its other part of story.main and basic thing was how to enter USA.cos entry is always problem and u solve it.

There is no excuse for his behavior. Nothing that she is doing or could have possibly done warrants being abused, whether it's physically, verbally, or emotionally. Domestic abuse is a crime in the US for a reason. Animal abuse is also a crime. It's true there is no perfect marriage but there is also NO reason why someone should suffer through abuse.

I really hope that you are able to find a way to get out from under this man OP. Please do not stay with someone who makes you feel unsafe or harms your animals. While I am still rather new to the Visa process so I don't have many suggestions for what sort of actions you can take regarding getting him deported, but I strongly suggest you find a safe place away from him if at all possible.

File the DIVORCE as soon as you can get to a court house. Immediately. Get those papers served. Important to be the first to file for the divorce. I DO KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. THE COURT WILL ALWAYS SIDE WITH THE PETITIONER ON A DIVORCE CASE. Get out and always have protection near you. Friends, family. He will strike at you when you least expect it. NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN. Get a restraining order against him. I had some what of a similar story. But not abuse. I was the citizen husband. My wife came to USA and in two weeks of arrival had two boyfriends in less then a month. She became pregnant from one of them. Never home weekends. Didn't care. She bragged to her co-workers about the fraud on the marriage. Even with all the proof I presented to ICE, they would not deport her or her children. I was still responsible for her support even after the divorce. Your case is a bit different in that he has been to jail over abuse. No he can not get a new petitioner. I honestly belive that he will be deported because of that. AND PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Thus, when time comes to file for his Removal of Condition you should file together inasmuch as you are still married. If you are still married he needs to for all this paperwork.

If you get divorce now he can file without you and with a lawyer it is pretty easy to get approved and obtain 10 years green card.

Along with this it wouldn't hurt if you get an infopass appointment and get a consultation directly at USCIS.

Elloyin from all posts so far, plays devils advocate. Essentially the logic is, there's always another side because there's only one poster posting their side and we don't know everything therefore should not judge the other person because we don't know their side.

Luckily for us, this is the internet and we aren't god and we have full right to give our opinions on both parties based on what we are told. Imo, all forum sigs should have "All my posts are in response to the information given, and ONLY the information given." Helps smoosh any people wanting to play neutral. If the OP says their spouse is an abuser, we have all right to believe so because we have no reason to believe the OP is a liar. The OP could be lying for all we know, but with no proof of it, all of our responses should be based on what is said, not what isn't or what could be said.


With that said, the OP, if he has infact hurt you and he has a court case against him I heavily reccomend divorcing him, revoking your Affidavit of support, and making an info pass appointment to talk to a case manager. No one has a right to lay their hand on anybody, no matter the situation.

We're all expected to have a reasonable amount of self control, and while some handle it better than others, it's a baseline thing all people of a stable mind can achieve.

Divorces can take a while, that's something you need to start on ASAP. It also shouldn't be hard to get a restraining order if he in fact does have multiple domestic violence calls/charges against him.

OP posted here & we responded, she did not ask for anything but to process the undoing of allowing herself to be

conned by an abuser into the US....YES ...abuser if you put your hands on a female in any way shape or form & I don't care

from what country the abuser hails, you been jailed for it then you should be sent back to your country/./Now

that's based on OP side, I wonder about those who try to defend abusers, makes me wonder...hmmm why would

His AOS is still pending and there is no need to wait for a divorce for ROC, all she has to do is withdraw the affidavit of support as soon as possible.

Actually our case was in AP for 16 months and I did scream and wonder about AP because my husband is the kindest sweetest man ever.
