Denial of green card renewal

To make a long story short, 2nd cousin was in jail for a gross misdemeanor sentenced for 6 months. He also has an immigration hold. Do you think he can renew his 10 yr GC? Or will he get deported?

If he's going to be deported, he's going to be deported. Whether he renews the plastic card has nothing to do with it. Even if he doesn't renew the plastic card, he is still a permanent resident, and can work and live in the US, but just won't have a card to prove it.

It is best for him to talk with a immigration lawyer to find out what his options are. No one here has the experience to tell you which way his case will go. Leave this to the experts (lawyer).
