1. I have another question about the I-129F. One of the things my fiancé is including with it are airplane boarding passes. Should he just send the originals, or should he send photocopies? I told him to make photocopies just in case the originals get lost. But should he keep the originals and just send photocopies?

2. Another question: how important is the ''letter of how we met"? He hadn't written one because he didn't see it anywhere on the guidelines but from what I've read on these forums, it seems like a lot of people wrote it. Is it a requirement and we were just missing something? (He's going to have the letter of how we met anyway, but I'm just curious!) :)

3. I just found out last night that my doctor has NO COPIES of my immunization records since the last shot they gave me was in 1994. My heart sank when I realized this because at first I thought it meant I'd have to get every single immunization over again and thought it might make our waiting time longer. But then I did a search on 'immunization records' and came across another girl in Canada who said that when she went in for her medical examination, the doctor said he would have to give her 2 shots, because she had no record. I guess this is what I have to expect?

4. For non-USC's, what have your experiences been with medical examinations (especially in Canada) and what do I expect for the entire procedure, whenever I have to go in for it? I am kind of nervous about it.

Thanks again, you've all been a big help already!

I sent the originals...made photocopies first. I also sent the email confirmation for my e-tickets, as did Joel. Not sure that it helped any or not.

I made copies of most things, except those that had to be Original, and held on to the originals for the "just in case" also be sure to make at least one complete copy of the entire application for a "just in case" or to let the other know what all was included since this is what goes to the interviewer.

1. Photocopies are fine. Thats what I included for boarding passes and everything else. But be prepared to send the orginals if they request it.

2. I wrote it as part of the packet of proof of how we met. Kind of as a cover letter to that proof.

3. Dont need to worry about that until the petition has been approved. Depending where you file, it could be a month or more before you need to do this. I think its pretty much up to the doctor to decide which shots you need.

1) Do not send your only evidence! Send copies.

2) The letter needs to state how, when and where you met. Nothing fancy, just a siimple statement.

3) The Dr will do a blood test to determine what shots you will need

4) Procedure for my Fiancee was in Brazil, but it was simple

We scanned all ours in to a computer, printed out and put the dates and occasions next to them on the sheets.

My fincée also did a time line to tie up events.

We wrote a "short story" format of how we met and how our relationship had blossomed and things we did and why. It was about 3/4 of a page of A4, the first paragraph was how we met in full detail, the second was along the lines of how things progressed and the thrid was "where are we now and why we want to marry"

We kept the originals for the interview, which i havent had yet.

It all went through fine

Yup, I did the exact same thing.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

The guides on this website suggest that the alien fiance bring the originals of things like photos, boarding passes, receipts, etc. with him / her to the consulate interview. Of course, perhaps this only applies if you did not include the originals in the petition. However, I don't think you should risk sending the originals in case your service center loses something. You and your fiance are probably much better guardians of those materials than your service center

We only sent our expedia purchase confirmations for my last year trip cause I lost the actual boarding passes. That seemed to work. I didn't get any RFE and I got approval.

For my boyfriend's boarding passes, we just made copies and wrote on top: "Original Unaltered Copies of Boarding Passes & if needed, we can provide original upon request" And had my boyfriend sign and date that. (I was able to do that, cause I filed this when he was still here visiting me)

Then we sent in photos and copies of our passport stamps. And then our itinerary to the Bahamas for a week together (to show ongoing relationship).

My timeline:

02 - 09 - 2007 - Sending off of my I-129F package

02 - 13 - 2007 - NOA1 Received

02 - 21 - 2007 - Touched!

03 - 01 - 2007 - NOA2 Received

03 - 02 - 2007 - Touched Again!

03 - 06 - 2007 - NVC Received

03 - 07 - 2007 - Was told by email I-129F will be forwarded to Sydney

03 - 08 - 2007 - I-129F picked up by DHL and on it's way to Sydney!!

03 - 12 - 2007 - Sydney Consulate received packet! From DHL: 1:48 pm Shipment delivered WOOT

03 - 19 - 2007 - Packet Three is sent off!

03 - 20 - 2007 - Corey goes to get his fingerprints/police check completed. Now we wait for the investigation and then I can be assured he's not a criminal =]

03 - 21 - 2007 - Corey gets Pkt 3 via Registered Mail

03 - 22 - 2007 - Sent Corey a copy of all the documents and the notarized I-134.. hopefully everything arrives safely!

05 - 01 - 2007 - Corey's Medical Rescheduled to this date because doctor was away!

05 - 04 - 2007 - Corey's Initial Interview date! (We only had ONE week's notice!)

05 - 30 - 2007 - Corey's Rescheduled Interview date because there was no time for the initial one
