I am semi serious about the party politics thing though. It seems to me that there is way to much polarisation and the result of that seems to be people get all messed up about personalities rather than real issues that everyone would like to see resolved. I guess that's not going to change anytime soon though.

I was once told that those who seek power should never recieve it, and those that deserve to be in power would always reject it, or some such thingy...

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I've noticed that many left or liberal leaning members here struggle financially, while

those who are well-off tend to be more conservative.

Is this a correct observation? Does a rise in income generally increase the likelihood

of a person voting Republican?

What do you think?

Not my experience at all, but then again, I live in Silicon Valley....well off & liberal.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

(obviously everyone isn't well off or liberal, but the majority are liberal, unemployment is low, home ownership is high, etc).

And taxes are low for you because of the Republicans. It's nice to vote your conscience until it hits your wallet. Liberalism is great as long as YOU ain't paying for it. It's great to crow that you voted for the left while you benefit big time from the right. You can talk the talk while you don't have to actually walk the walk.

We really need to crank up the decibles at $75,000 and above with a hefty progressive income tax. The pendulum has been swinging too far one way for way too long.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Most liberals aren't really liberal, they just think they are.

Conservative, trust fund baby, Ph.D., well-traveled, hate both parties with a passion.

You are telling people you have a trust fund? I thought you were the one going on about having class. Where I come from, class is not announcing your trust fund that way.

You're right. I should have done it with florish, pomp and circumstance worthy of its status. Next time.
