K1 Visas - Adjustment of Status packet and the medical exam question

Dear Friends,

We went through the K1 visa process (spouse entered the USA, we got married, etc.) We also filed for the Adjustment of Status (Green Card) I-485 form.

I did not include the medical form (I-693) because less than 3 months ago, my spouse spent hundreds of dollars in his home country and had vaccines and exams and that form was completed by the local American-approved civil surgeon and was forwarded in a sealed envelope to the local US Consulate, which I am under the impression was eventually ether forwarded to USCIS or included in the sealed envelope upon point of entry in the US.

Now I am worried that after having sent our Adjustment of Status, we are going to get an RFE and have to spend a few more hundred dollars to do the exact same medical evaluation that we did less than 3 months ago.

Can anyone shed some light if this is something we should be worried about?

Did you do a cover sheet when you submitted your AOS packet and included the DS 3025 that shows all medical was completed and was it marked completed on the DS 3025?

I submitted the DS 3025 with a cover letter stating that medical was done and DS 3025 shows complete

this is something i am worried about too since i read that sometimes people get RFE's for sending DS-3025 only

but since the DS-3025 is signed and complete I have a feeling they will accept it (you went to dr jonty I assume?)

They accepted our DS 3025 with no RFE's so I think as long as u include it and state on the cover letter that medical exam has been complete you should be ok. But each case varies.

I can't give you any great reassurance, but I can at least let you know you're not alone! My now-husband's medical form accidentally got taken at POE. We had brought it in with the sealed envelope and the CBP guarded ended up keeping it. We tried an infopass to get it back, and were solidly assured it was already in the system somehow. So, sent the AOS forms in with only a note saying why we didn't include it. Thus far, he's had one biometrics appointment, and no RFE, but I do still wonder...

I made a very organized petition which dividers and a table of contents, cover sheet, etc.

I didn't include the DS-3025 at all , just a cover letter in it's place stating that the exam was carried out already recently and that we did not have access to it.

Do you think they will give us problems? Everything else was included with a wealth of evidence/documents.

Some have received an RFE in the mail or at the interview stating they have to see a civil surgeon for a new medical. I think not all immigration officers clearly know the policies for those adjusting from a K-1.
