Some people seem to enjoy commenting on me rather than on the subject matter. I find that odd. I don't see myself the way some here do, and have a totally different and satisfying life away from here. So what happens here is only a blip on the radar, and a temporary one at that.

Thank for your contribution!

You do make yourself the subject of nearly everything you post. Whether it's the clique out to get you, or your insistance that men like you because you are tough and not girly like those other despisable women, and your bizarre belief that you can take on 'no offense' or 'I'm not PC' and that means you're not being insulting.

You're -- or I should say your persona is -- sort of a curiosity, because nearly everything you post has this undercurrent of 'i'm not like *them*', and for someone who has a deep and satisfying life away from here, you seem to have an awful lot bound up in proving that you're not like all these other women.

What is so classy about ignoring "quoted for truth"?

For someone who apparently has a life, you've been on here a lot.

I know what it means too, but I had the class to ignore it.

Well that's because you're BETTER than everyone!! /sarcasm

LOL!

I think I can guess what it means!

insistence that men like you because you are tough and not girly like those other despisable women

This is not specific to this thread, but I've always found it sort of a reversal of feminist ideas that women should be proud of being more like men. In my experience, women are always proud of things that they do that are more like men. Being able to fix a car or play football or keep your emotions inside has more value than being able to garden or play tennis or empathize with someone simply because it's not expected of women and is considered "manly."

IMO, if we're really going to be proud of being women, we should be proud of being women, not proud of being as close as we can be to male stereotypes.

I am so proud to be a woman!

At the same time, what that means to me is doing anything I put my mind to....I try not to get bogged down with 'male/female' labeling of activities...but as I'm an only child and quite close to my father, I have done many things which would be considered traditionally 'male'. However, I would be just as proud to change my oil as I would be to knit a shirt....both are outside of my comfort zone (lol) and for me, the reward comes with mastering something I'm not well versed in.

I think proud women (and men) for that matter should just be proud to be a capable person no matter what they choose to do & stop worrying about defining things.

I do find there are many women like that (as you mentioned above), and it seems they hurt women more than help because they are perpetrating the 'women knitting at home with friends and crying whilst discussing their periods' stereotype.

Seriously, can you please explain that?

Well, I think it's clear in the context in which it was written that the QFT mean 'quoted for truth'. I think it's also clear of Swirl's demeanor and posting style that she is not a vulgar person, therefore these two factors should have given her the benefit of the doubt to not think so poorly of her.

Furthermore, you may feel you had the 'class' to initially ignore it, but sadly you did not have the class (by your own standards and admission) to continue to do so. ;)

On occasion, we find common ground, Lisa, and this is one example of that. :D

Very much agreed! :) (That's right, TWO smileys)

Women are allowed to be more like men without the stigma attached to men who are perceived to be more feminine. Some women compensate for this imbalance by emphasizing their "male" traits and abilities. On the other hand, some women's natural abilities are considered to be more "male" and they suffer for those, as well.

Right. So strong, capable professional women are never labeled "bi!ch" "lesbian" "hard azz" or any other non-feminine moniker as a way to demean their perceived "male" traits?

And why is it men are finding non-American wives who might be more traditionally feminine in their traits and their activities?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.
