Hello Joru16

That's exactly the same with my mother's NBI that i just submitted to NVC a week ago along with aos and civil docs. I also didnot see any "AKA" so i'm kinda wondering too what is that AKA that delays the visa issuance. Hope those who are done with this may shed us some light.

Thank you VJyers.

NBI CLEARANCE (USEM requires Green Form). Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (purpose: for travel abroad) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names (AKA). An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of "No criminal record" or "No pending case". The NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued but the USEM Consulate requires it to be no older than 6 months at the time of the interview. Return and get a new clearance if it is older than 6 months. The NBI website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

Return if you have not met these requirements and get another one issued.

Thank you Greenbaum for that

JuRo16 I did not mean to hijack this tread, I leave it up to VJ Mod what to do.

Greenbaum, Correct me if I'm wrong, my mother's first name on her Birth Certificate was VINA but she was known since birth up to this date (and all legal and other documents) as DINA so it was corrected at the Phil. Statistics Authority (formerly NSO) even before this NVC stage, that would mean, SHE HAS TO RETURN TO NBI and lt them put that VINA also because it was on her BC?

Thank you.

TJMax, the way I understand it Yes, your mom needs to have her BC name "Vina" on the NBI clearance as well. Basing it on the info Greenbaum provided. Also, I think the "AKA" is only needed when there are corrections or any other names used by an individual. Changing the name from maiden to married doesnt count since every name will be on the clearance (Family Name, middle name, first name, husband's surname) providingvthere are no corrections

Yes. It was at one time an AKA and must be included in the NBI. USEM will catch that one from the BC
