Status change for k3. What does it mean?

My husband and I filed in early August sending the i-130. After that was received we filed the i-129 to take a shot at the k3. We checked our status online for the i-129 and it doesn't say "received" like we expected, but instead says "your document was mailed" and that if we don't receive it by Oct 17 we should call.

What document? I'm confused. I thought it would probably just get stuck to the i-130 and say "received" until the i-130 is approved and the i-129 is scrapped.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks!

Sounds like your I-129 was approved before the I-130. Nice lol.

Just want to clarify did you mail a I-129 like you stated or hopefully the right form I-129F (there is a difference). I doubt an approval it would say your approved petition. It doesn't say further evidence.

Let me ask what lockbox did you send the I-129F to? Dallas? I would think the document mailed is your document they are sending to meet up with the I-130.

They have templates of specific situation templates and emails so I would say that is he situation.

Thanks for your response. Yes, it was the i-129f (it says that on the status page as well.) yes, to the Dallas lockbox. But it says "we" should receive the document, not a service center. I just don't know what document it's talking about.

I know the k3 is pretty much a memory, but our lawyer talked us into it before I knew that. So, it's difficult not to hope, especially in our situation.

Today status changed to RFE. :-/ But our i-130 still just received.

I thought they just smashed the 2 together and adjudicated coincidentally. Now I'm confused.

And annoyed... An rfe after paying our Kanter is... Frustrating.

I thought the document mail was an RFE. Dang what did your lawyer do Sorry So will it come to you or your lawyers address.

But you realize that means they have looked at your case and your I-129F could very well e approved well ahead of the I-130. So thats good news.

In case anyone is still following this, our RFE hard copy arrived. They requested our G-325a's and passpopassport photos. But I would expect our lawyer sent those in the first place (like he says he did).

Do things like that go missing often?

But, I'm so glad the rfe isn't something difficult or additional proof of genuine relationship. Once we respond with the proper evidence is it likely we will get a quick approval if that's all they are asking for? Also our I-130 status is still just "received"...
