I-130 approval time ? (Split thread)

Timeline

well it depends on what visa type u applied for single or multiple entries and the duration. its optional you will choose that when applying. my wife got a six month multiple entry when she visited last year. she's planning to apply for one again in few weeks so she can visit again this September. we waiting on USCIS for noa2 in mean time am posting this question to everyone on here how long did it take u guys till USCIS approve your petition.. ours is 5 months today... Chicago service centre.. looking forward to your replies thanks

it looks like everyone has given the right answer u need. my wife was in Nigeria last year dec and she got the visa in a week. 6 months multiple entry.. she's planning on visiting this December too. in the mean time I would like to ask everyone who has gone past the USCIS stage. how long did it take before your fromi130 was approved.. ours was 5 months today

First you need to know what service center your petition is at. There is no Chicago service center Chicago is the lockbox that just collects the petitions and takes the money we sent. rm there they send to the service center .

Look at the first 3 letters of your receipt #

  1. SRC= Texas Service Center
  2. LIN = Nebraska Service Center
  3. EAC= Vermont Service Center
  4. WAC= California Service Center

Regardless of where your petition is 5 months is well within all the centers processing time. You just have to be patient.

Have you been checking your status on the uscis.gov site? Did you register your case so you get text and email going forward?

Please update your timeline. Thank you.
