CR-1 marriage ceremony

So my fiancé and I are bouncing around on what to do, k1 or Cr1 and to be honest I don't understand these legal terms and abbreviations and acronyms lol. So when I search I just get confused more. I've already asked a lot about the k1 but I now have questions about the cr1.

My fiancé is coming for thanks giving. Here is a scenerio. We go get legally married while she is here. She then goes home and we start the CR1 process. When applying does immigration want proof of a ceremony and photos of the wedding or will a marriage license and proof of an ongoing relationship work?

Feel free to correct my ignorance lol I'm just super confused and would like so direction on what route to take and how to do it!!! We just want to be together lol

I would provide as much information upfront as possible so when you get to your interview there is less of a chance they will ask for additional documents, or get denied because of lack thereof. Provide the marriage certificate (copy for now, orignal will be provided later), photos and affidavits form people who are aware of the relationship (from both sides). That may suffice, but if you have other information that support the relationship, it wouldn't hurt to include it.

OP, regardless of what path you choose, evidence of time spent together in-person will be your strongest evidence. Unless you are light on such evidence, skip the affidavits, they carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file.

Depends on which US embassy your wife will interview at. The interviewer will usually take that countries culture and norm into consideration when it comes to the bona fidas of the marriage. In some countries, a big ceremony with family and lots of pictures is the norm, so not having that in such a country might make the process more difficult.

Likewise, if your wife is from a high fraud country or difficult embassy, front load your I-130 petition with lots and lots of strong bona fida proof. Like Ryan H said, time spent together in person is your strongest evidence.
