:help: Here is the situation. I am getting married on July 7 Using the K-1 visa for my fiancee from Japan. Does anyone know if it possible to go on a honeymoon in the Carabian? I kno that after they enter the US it is hars for them to leave for 2 years. But what about the Carabian? Does that mean we have to stay in the US for our honeymoon? Any help is appreciated. Or if you know anywhere in the US that has really awsome beaches on the east coast or Gulf of Mexico, that would be good for ma honeymoon, let me know. Thanks,

You could go down to Key West or somewhere else in Florida if you want to stay on the mainland. Otherwise why don't you check into the U.S. Virgin Islands or other places that are similar that are under U.S. territory. Don't worry, there are actually some really beautiful places you can go. Best of luck on your search!

I would check Puerto Rico its a USA territory in the Caribbean. My family and I enjoyed our vacation there. I know you can't go to other countries in Caribbean because my hubby lives in Jamaica and thats why we opted for the CR1 visa.

Met Jan 1998, vows on 2006, Jay Jay born 2008, baby 2 - 2011

Look at time line for visa information

Sadly you cannot.

D and I wanted to go on a cruise, but after reading the rules and also checking with an attorney on this matter, it's clear to us that this is not allowed as he would have no AP therefore cannot leave the country after marriage and be allowed back in.

Key West is great....it's one of our fave places to go

as far as the USVI and PR, you might want to check whether having a cruise go into international waters would make a difference to the fact that you're simply traveling to a US territory. But a cruise would have multiple stops so I'm thinkin it's not going to be likely this would work out.

What if we fly to PR or the USVI? would they let us go there? If not where would you recomend to go in Key West for a good beach, motel, ect.

With a K-1, you cant enter the country again until your AP has been approved. So if you want to take a honeymoon outside the US, you could do it before the wedding and before entering the US for the first time (You may need to be careful if any flights connect within US territory). Or you will have to wait and take a belated honeymoon after you file for AP and it gets approved.

Try DisneyWorld. It's great for honeymoons!

You beat me to the punch. We were going to take a cruise but decided against it. Lira is a huge Mickey fan and said that she dreams of going to Disney Land..... or is it Disney World? ....the one in Florida. :D

DisneyWorld is the one in Florida. It's fabulous. My first husband and I had our second honeymoon there, and I'm already planning to take my second husband there for a romantic week when he comes, insha'allah.

lol been there quite a few times. Pleasure Island is a ripoff. I'd rather party in Manhattan. All the other parks are full of children, some less than others. I'm not ripping on children, just saying it isn't "romantic".

I never got the whole "Disney World for Couples" idea. I can't think of a single place in the United States I'd less like to go anyway, let alone for "romance."

IMO, Disney World for couples is exactly like when they tried to claim Vegas was for children a few years back.
