Hi everybody! Me and my husband were worried and frustrated because its been six months already since our interview from our Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS and the immigration officer who interviewed us told us that we just wait after 2 weeks after our interview for our Greencard and we applied for working permit and advance parole also but she didn't gave us those because she said we will be able to recieve our greencard for two week after our interview, but its been six months already but no greencard yet. We tried to called up the USCIS but its always the same answer we got from them "that we need to wait". We already make an appoinment to go to our local USCIS office and talk to an immigration officer to check what's goin on and that would be on March 15, 2007.It's really frustrating isn't it?

If anybody who go through the same situation as y case go through please kindly share it to us and advice us.I'm looking forward for your response.Thank you and God Bless.

you can email me also in: annbobcronch@aol.com

sincerely,

ann

If you have not yet done it, contacting your congressman is one of the first things you should be doing. There is a possablity that it was lost in the mail or they lost it or forgot about it.

BTW never all USCIS they are worthless, you are suppost to wait 30 days, and not 6 Months. Just dont waste your time calling them ever again.

theres alot of us who have had our interview and not recieved the green card yet due to fbi background checks but it dont seam like that is your problem if they told u that u would get it soon.

i would just go to your info pass appointment and inquire about it and see if they have any news for you.

good luck

Yes, just try to be even more patient while you wait for your Infopass appointment. If they didn't inform you that you were stuck in the FBI name check, then something else probably happened to your file, i.e. it's been sitting on the bottom of the pile on someone's desk or the GC got lost in the mail, etc. Hopefully your Infopass appointment will be able to shed some light as to what happened to your GC. Just sit tight until your appointment. It's no use panicking and worrying further because you can't do anything about it right now!

And yes, do not rely on the USCIS mis-information line again. They don't know more about your case than you already know. Infopass is the way to go if you want "real" answers.

Ours didn't last that long, We went to the interview and everything was fine, didn't have fbi name check, but they had to go over our files since some documents were not in the folder, the officer mentioned everything was fine and we would get the green card in 2 weeks but it might take longer, so for a period of 60-90 days it felt like we were on the DO NOT CALL US list, but once that time expired we made an infopass to get my wife passport stamp, the funny thing 1 week later the card came through in the mail. If you don't already have your passport stamp, please make an infopass and get one just in case you have to travel overseas you don't really need to have the green card with you.

Gone but not Forgotten!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for sharing us your experiences, We truly appreciate it. We made our INFOPASS already which will be this coming March 15 which is my husband's B-day actually and we are hoping for a good result and answers to our questions. So hope this would help. So just wish us luck for that. I will just post here the result of our appointment then. Thanks again for the advices. God Bless Everybody.

Sincerely,

Ann/Bob
