Does my fiancé need to bring anything into immigration in JFK ? Money?

I know he needs the packet they gave him when he picked up his passport. Anything else??

Thanks! They Will probably ask him a few questions. Mostly things about you as far as name, address, what you do for work. Nothing more than that.

Congrats!

My fiancé is landing tonight. I'm worried about what he will have to go through in immigration tonight. Does he need to know anything!?

Anyone getting anymore updates? Something I want cr1 visa people to know, don't forget to go ahead and pay USCIS $165 for green card when you receive your visa back. From my understaning, if you pay before you enter US wih visa, they will automatically begin process your green card when you are scanned in at point of entry. Otherwise, they will send a letter and it will take more time to process... I didn't know this until yesterday. Good Luck Everyone ?

Hello,

I am new to yet another forum of poor petitioners waiting with no information and no guidance from our lovely government on getting our loved ones here. We interviewed and were approved on October 31 and have been in AP (Immigrant) status since. Embassy official at the interview said 7-10 days and with her congratulation, we left. USTRAVELDOCS went from "Passport still at embassy" to "Document Delivery Instruction" two nights ago. Cannot access any information on what that means as when you click on the box in your dashboard it doesn't open another window. Email to USTRAVELDOCS support yielded an answer that had nothing to do with the question.

It wasn't enough to suffer at the Texas Service Center, now we enter the abyss of this embassy. I know the embassy in la capital is one of the busiest embassies in the world, but that should mean enough support staff to do whatever non-sense they pretend to do after you walk out. They have a big building, so plenty of space to have people push paper around. I had my call with the #703 number this morning and ended it by asking the lady how would she feel if she was informed she had won the lottery only to be told a day later that the lottery commission is reviewing her winning numbers and will let her know in 60 days if she is indeed the winner." I got the "I understand your concern", which I responded "Do you really understand, because I learned to speak Spanish fluently because of my fiancee, and I can translate." Thank you for calling....goodbye.

My poor fiancee thinks something is wrong, even if it hasn't been that long (holidays included).

Michael

I'm laughing a little because I feeellllll you! I can't stand calling that 703 # for them to read the same 2-3 responses off their notepad. I have learned in dealing with them, be straight to the point. If they aren't answering your question tell them that. Eventually you will get "ok this will be escalated today." It took a few tries for me to get a straight answer and time frame...I'm "escalated" again as of this morning. They emailed my senator saying cases are processed in the order they are received. Ummm not based off the results on VJ.

And you mentioned speaking Spanish to them...I doubt they all speak Spanish. I gave them my case # one time and the lady couldn't understand "SDO" so I knew at that point they weren't assigned to only SDO cases.

My story is pretty identical as rms171's except the visa was approved 10/30 just a day before we were in AP for a few days and now it says ISSUED and super excited just waiting until they say ready for pick up. Which according to them it shouldn't take longer than 10 days. Lets just hope we don't have to call/email for that as well.
