Removing One Person Off Petition

Hello All,

I have a family me member that filed for a Petition of an Alien Relative a long time ago. It is for their brother, their brother’s wife, and their daughter. The case is near the end of the process (I believe with the Consulate of that country). My question is the wife is no longer interested in immigrating to the United States. Is it possible to take her off the petition? If yes, please explain the procedures and possible outcome - essentially are their negative consequences?

Thanks all for your help.

Just to clarify because I know someone will ask.

The petition is for the petitioner's:

Brother, Brother's Wife, and Brother's Daughter.. Correct?

Petitioner's Brother is still married to the 'wife' who is no longer interested?
