A stepchild (ukrainian) in the US on IR-2 Visa. Can she get SS number and work permit?

Called CSC to request NOA 1 be resent (they said NO!) 07-28-2004

NOA 2 08-31-2004 SUPRISE!

NVC receives 09-07-2004

NVC forwarded petition to Kiev 09-13-2004

Never received packet 3

Downloaded packet 3 and returned 9-22-2004

Requested interview 10-4

NVC sent embassy her maiden name!

Sent embassy documentation showing passport name.

Notified of interview 10-1-2004 by email.

Never received packet 4

Embassy guard still had maiden name she was prepared with documentation!

Interview successful 10-4-2004

Arrive JFK 10-19-20

Arrive Phoenix 10-20-2004

Married 1-6-05!

I believe so, since she has an Immediate Relative(IR) 2 visa. My understanding is she becomes a permanent resident once she gets to the US (processed through POE) and waits for the actual card in the mail. Work permit is the GC, did the child get an I-551 stamp at her POE? If he/she has that on the passport then that's proof of being a PR. There should be no problem applying for SSN.

06/02/2015 - Biometrics Appointment

08/06/2015 - Interview scheduled per USCIS website

09/11/2015 - Interview - PASSED!

09/18/2015 - Received oath letter

09/22/2015 - Oath Ceremony
