B-1 visit visa to CR-1 spouse visa

well this is going to be an arranged marriage in chicago. if i dont plan on visiting US then this will take a lot of time for the visa process and well be distance apart even after getting married.

hello everyone i am confused in a long time now. i am currently working in SAUDI ARABIA and recently got engaged to my first cousin who is a citizen of the UNITED STATES and resides in CHICAGO. first we thought of applying for the K-1 visa but this has a clause that we need to meet at least 2 years prior in person which we did not meet coz this is an arranged marriage. so my question is

CAN I COME ON A B-1 VISIT VISA TO THE US AND GET MARRIED? AFTER THE CEREMONY I WILL BE HEADING BACK TO THE PLACE I AM WORKING. NOW CAN MY WIFE APPLY FOR THE CR-1 VISA AND WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES.

Just as in your other post, what you are planning is ok as far as immigration is concerned. Marrying during your visit is not a problem.

The difficult thing MAY BE in getting the visitor visa. You will need to show good evidence that you will return to Saudi Arabia after your visit. A letter from your employer would be a good thing to show at the interview along with a work contract. Just be truthful and explain your story clearly to the consular officer at the interview.

Do you already have a B-1 visa or are you planning on applying for one? If you need to apply for one, I'd say your chances of getting a B-1 visa is extremely low, given your reason for that visa application would be to get married.

When immigrating to the US on a spousal visa, you need to show proof of a bona fida marriage. Expect a lot of extra scrutiny, and a possible denial, if you only meet once and you get married at that time as well.

Also, first cousin marriage are not allowed in all states and hence you'd have to get married in a state that allows first cousin marriage and live in a state that allows first cousin marriages or accept first cousin marriages from another state. Illinois does not allow first cousin marriages and do not recognize them from other states, hence you can't live in Illinois if you want to immigrate

yes i will show all the things that require to convince them i am not going to stay. but marrying my first cousin by coming on a visit is possible or not. and then she files for the spouse visa is also fine or will there be any problem

can we get married in india and then she returns back to the US and apply for the spouse visa. will this be fine then. i will not show my intention to get married when i apply for the visit visa

'arranged marriages' while common in many countries, are far from the norm in the US...and since some might be applying for a US visa, guess what? You will have to try and convince a CO that this marriage is for 'love' instead of merely checking a box to make the relatives happy...and first cousin marriages, while likely common in West Virginia, are, I believe, not legal in the US... you should (need) to check....2nd or 3rd cousin, maybe, but first, no.....this kind of case will be sent back to USCIS before you can blink.

20 states allow first cousin marriages and 6 additional under certain circumstances.

I would hope that the CO would inform himself of the state laws before he burdens the USCIS with a quickly returned petition.

Since OP wants to marry in Chicago, he would need to look for one of the other 20 states to marry, Illinois is out unless they meet the conditions.

Half of the states allow it, not just West Virginia.

You were given advice the first time you asked in this same thread.

Your wife will petition you with a I-130 and then you will apply for the CR1 and complete the process in the foreign country.

What are the possibilities ? Different for every couple and situation.

Hello Everyone. I want to know that is it possible for me to enter the United States on a Visit Visa and get married to my fiance since the K1 visa process has a clause that we should have met at-least in 2 years prior to the application of visa. And will there be a problem for me in near future for the adjustment of my status and green card processing.

Yes I have known people who have done that. Just make sure you do not get married in US and file for AOS in the US. That could be a visa fraud. USCIS won't bother you 90% of time but you don't want to take the chance.

how do you spell 'visa fraud?'.....if you doubt me, then please, when at your interview, just gently inform the CO that you wish to enter the US, marry your 'arranged' significant other, then file for Adjustment of Status....the CO will be happy to explain what happens next.
