YES I KNOW THAT I WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VISIT VISA. AFTER I GET MARRIED I CAN RETURN BACK TO MY WORKPLACE OR SHALL I STAY THERE UNTIL MY FIANCE APPLIES FOR THE SPOUSE VISA.

You marry and you go back. Then she files a CR1 petition for you. Read the links in the guides :

Research the requirements on a computer not a phone and follow each step.

If something is still unclear ask specific questions here.

Or she can file a I-129 for you for a fiance visa and then you would marry within 90 days of you arrival if visa is granted.

NVC Received : some dinkelsberry yehoo in the house of clingons send our petition to the wrong consulate.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Hello Everyone. I want to know that is it possible for me to enter the United States on a Visit Visa and get married to my fiance since the K1 visa process has a clause that we should have met at-least in 2 years prior to the application of visa. And will there be a problem for me in near future for the adjustment of my status and green card processing.

Hey, it is not a good idea to get a tourist visa and get married if you want to stay and adjust the status from the USA. My husband and I discussed this with the lawyer. Since you are already engaged you would have a hard time to prove that getting married and staying in the USA was spontaneous decision. However you can get married on B2 as long as you RETURN back to your country and start CR1/IR1 process. That is what we did. We got married while I visited the USA and started CR1 while I live and work outside of the USA. If you get married on tourist visa and stay in the USA it could be considered as a visa fraud. Besides you can try apply for tourist visa however no one can guarantee that you would get them. I had my tourist visa prior engagement and prior getting married. I did not have any issue getting B2 however I was getting them while getting crew visa to the USA = I have a work, I have a residency in foreign country where I work (but I am originally from a different country).

Even if you got B2 visa you still have to pass thru immigration. If you dont convince the officer that you dont want to stay. I go to the USA 2-3 times a month as a crew and once a month for a personal visit to see my husband and never had an issue but I always told officer I live and work in a different country, he sees my crew visa, my residency etc.

Be careful, don't try cut corners..

Hello Everyone. Even though the CR-1 does not have the same requirement of meeting face to face within the last 2 years like the fiance visa, you will still have to prove that you have a bonafide marriage and relationship, which may be hard to show when you have no pictures together, no intermingling of finances, your first visit is when you got married, etc.

Please read up on all of the guides and do some searches for other threads on VJ to see what other people have had to go through.

Mar 2014 - Married

5/7/14?? - Attorney mailed paperwork

5/15/14 DHS cashed check

5/19/14 - NOA1 received with PD 5/12/14

10/17/14 - NOA2 received

10/28/14 - Email received that file has been sent to NVC

11/13/14 - NVC received file

12/10/14 - NVC Assigned case number

12/12/14 - AOS Fee Invoiced

12/13/14 - Submit email to NVC to remove attorney as DS-261 Agent

12/16/14 - AOS Fee showing as Paid

12/17/14 - IV Fee invoiced

12/20/14 - IV fee available and paid

12/27/14 - DS-260 submitted

1/2/15 - AOS and IV packages sent to NVC

1/5/15 - USPS delivered packages to NVC

1/7/15 - NVC scanned in packages. Let the countdown begin...

1/30/15 - FINALLY got a reply to my email to remove the attorney from the DS-261

3/9/15 - Called NVC and they have checklisted us for an "incorrect" decree absolute from the UK, even though it is the legal official document. Have requested a supervisor review.

4/28/15 - Called and NVC said supervisor had reviewed and now claimed that the decree absolute was not included. After disagreeing with the less than helpful lady on the phone, and her not being able to get the review time right. (She kept changing her story between 42 days and 30 days).

4/30/15 - Sent the same copy of the decree absolute to the NVC from the UK, highlighting the "decree absolute" wording with a letter stating that this is the only document provided by the UK government.

5/6/15 - Scan date for checklist received.

6/5/15 - Case complete!!!

6/12/15 - Called and interview is scheduled for July 1!

6/14/15 - Received email with interview date and instructions.

6/19/15 - Case showing as ready on CEAC.

7/1/15 - Approved at interview!!!

7/6/15 - CEAC changed to Administrative Processing

7/7/15 - CEAC changed to Issued!!!!!

7/10/15 - Passport and packet delivered!

7/29/15 - Husband entered with visa at Dallas/Fort Worth airport

9/29/15 - GC delivered!!!

5/4/17 - ROC packet sent via USPS

5/9/17 - Tracking shows delivered

5/17/17 - Check cashed

5/19/17 - NOA1 received with date of 5/8/17

5/27/17 - Biometrics appt received 6/8/17

10 years ago. Since i will be visiting US and like in a week or two we would get married and then i am going to return to my work place. Then let my fiance apply for the CR1 visa like after a month when we get married we will have a bonafide certificate for the wedding and pictures and other stuffs as well. Will this be a good idea and i have also gone through some replies like what are you going to tell to the officer at the POE and hhow will you convince him that i am not going to stay . I will show him my contract with the company i am working right now and tell him that i just came here to enjoy my vacation which the company gives me like every year and its also mention in the contract. This will make them know that im not going to stay there.

If you have a year left on your contract and it will not be extended please bear in mind that you most likely will be interviewing back in India.

Also you need as others have mentioned to substantiate your relationship and one visit and marrying may not make it. However you have plenty of time to develope matters before any interview.

then what i need to do if not choosing the visit visa to get married. Shall i get married in India and then my spouse apply for the CR 1 visa when she returns back to the US.

You want to marry someone you have not seen for 10 years, that is unusual. Focus on what you would expect a married couple to do.

It might sound unusual but she is my first cousin and me or her don't mind it that we haven't met in years. well you are right i need to focus on what to expect as a married couple and i am right on that . so i thought of discussing the situation with her first . So what shall i do then. go on a visit and get married or marry in india then let my spouse to apply CR 1

I suggest visiting her to get re acquainted and then have her come to India for an engagement and a second visit to marry.
Embassies don't like to see fast marriages after not having met and in your case having met 10 years ago, India is not an easy country

to go through. You will be scrutinized to make sure you aren't just bringing a cousin over to start a chain immigration through her to help other

family members. Arranged marriages are yet again another story and you have not indicated that it is one.

Your sense of urgency to a green card speaks loud and clear but you need to slow down and instead of picking option 1,2 or 3, contemplate

what's best for your relationship and how to prove a solid bona fide relationship/marriage to the consulate. If you mess this up you could

find yourself in AP for a year.

Every state has different laws in regards to cousin marriages so you need to research all of this. Take a breath and slow down, read a lot

in the forums here, you need more than this thread to reach a successful outcome. Don't make a snap decision. This journey is hard.
