Our time to file I-751 is now and my wife (immigrant) is changing her name to mine since we mistakenly did not do so for the CR1. When I list her name in the cover letter should I list her current name (maiden name, the name on her green card and all our evidence) or should I use her new name that we are listing in Part 1 #1 of the I-751?

Also, she will be shifting her last name to her middle name (and dropping her "old" middle name). I assume that should not be a problem and we can use whatever name we want in Part 1 #1 based on what I've read. Hopefully that is correct.

Lastly, I see many people send a copy of the passport with the I-751. Is this really necessary? We'll already be sending a copy of her permanent resident card, and copies of both of our driver's licences.

This is what we will be sending (and the check):

Front and back copy of X's permanent resident card
Two sworn affidavits by a relative and a friend (both U.S. citizens), attesting to our relationship and marriage.
Letter from my employer showing employee and spouse health coverage with both of our names
Letter from my employer showing X as the primary beneficiary for my life insurance, 401K and stock awards provided by the company.
Copy of our health insurance card, showing both names
Joint car insurance verification and ID cards
AAA yearly bill showing shared account
Ally Bank joint checking and savings account statements showing direct deposit from both of our employers
Bank of America joint checking and savings account statements
American Express statement showing shared account
IRS tax transcripts of our joint tax return for 2013 and 2014
Copy of both of our California driver’s licenses
Photos of us together since after our marriage

Thank you

I'm sending my I-751 tomorrow and I have not included passport copies, it is totally pointless. USCIS does not ask for it and it shows nothing of use.

what is your reservation against a passport copy?

Only because it's not asked for and they already have a copy.

That's what I feel as well. Copy of permanent resident card should cover it, I don't think I'll include the passport copies either.

They dont specifically ask for all kinds of stuff....until they do.

Good point. I wanted to see if there was anyone who had a problem when it was not provided.

Why would they request a copy of a passport? It has no value with respect to the petition. I've read a lot of threads on here and I've never seen anyone mention getting an RFE for a copy of passports.
