Ok I just got off the phone with pilot mountain police department. I didn't even finish my sentence before the dispatcher cut me off saying she's fine. I said what, she didn't swallow a whole bottle of tylenol? She said well she very well may have but she was up and walking around fine the police already cleared her health. Her sister had a diabetic seizure so they helped her. She said everything's ok. Phew. Thanks for the help guys.

So...was she attention seeking? Or did she take them and just seem all right? Cause if you swallow Tylenol the effects aren't always immediate, can take months, years even to show up. If she WAS lying about taking them then she needs help of some kind anyway, not necessarily medical IMO.

If the information your friend provided is accurate, she ought to be checked out by a medical professional, not Barney Fife.

Further, she ought to consider a psychological consult, because that behavior is a cry for help.

All the best to your friend.

I'm definately shocked that the cops didn't do anything else. I don't know if she was seeking attention or what, but she never responded to me, if she was only seeking attention wouldn't she have responded to me? Other than keeping in frequent contact with her, what else can I do?

IMO it isn't the cop's place to clear her health. That's down to an ambulance paramedic and a doctor.

I agree. I guess that's how they do things by her but... I think she should've been taken to a hospital. This should be considered a suicide attempt!

This may be "over the top", but consider contacting the local hospital in the area for a second opinion.

Having reviewed the police website in her city, the police force is less than 10 strong. Certainly not the best trained officers in the big scheme of things. My city has over 1200 officers with medical training, yet they defer "all" medical issues to trained Paramedics. A sharp difference.

Give that a go.

It's terrible that your friend placed you in that position...after all, being so far away, there's not much you can really do. It obviously is a cry for attention.

And she puts you in this position and leaves ya to it...you get the cops and whatnot, and she can't even send you an email? #######?

William could you give me the link to their website? I wonder if the hospital in that area is any better staffed than the police department.

Lisa, I know, I'm struggling not to think like that myself. The cops did say her sister had a diabetic seizure - maybe she got caught up in helping her sister? Or maybe she feels betrayed that I sent the cops to her house, maybe she feels like she can't trust me anymore. I know what I did was right, and I'd do it again in an instant, but she might not see it like that...

Yeah but what else would a friend do? Sit back and do nothing?

You did the only thing you could. You wouldn't be much of a friend if you hadn't.

Ditto the hospital would of been best they could of helped here in the mental ward. Mental wards are not bad they have counselor and staff there to help.
