What shall I say about "hospitalisation" ?

My parents had me taken in because there was a suggestion my drink had been spiked, I was being very ill and the room was spinning VERY BADLY...it turned out my friends were putting doubles in and i didnt notice until it hit me. I thought I hadnt had that much to drink and couldnt understand why I was absolutely wasted! It was something that I hadnt gave much thought to until I saw the questionnaire. It was a one time thing (I dont normally drink often anymore) , I just dont want it to look "worse" than it is.

I'm really feeling bad about it now because its the one "scrape" i've ever really had.

I have no idea what the answer to your question is but I had no idea there was a questionnaire for the medical too! When do we receive that? And how long is it, how many questions etc.? I'm very curious, although I guess I could just look it up.

It's in packet 3 which you get from the embassy after the NVC forwards on your case.

I mean, it asks if you have "abused" drugs...I personally wouldnt say two puffs on a spliff 5 years ago really counts as abuse! Likewise, I have smoked 2 cigarettes and 2 cigars in my life, but I have to say "yes" to tobacco and explain the answer?

I took part in a drinking competition a few years ago and ended up in a bit of a state, people called an ambulance as they thought it were best, checked out the next day with a sore head and a profuse apology to the ambulance staff and nurses! It was a one time misadventure, but should I class it as alcohol abuse?

Im worried that this will look really bad when I always looked at it as teenage shennanigans!

I think you are reading absolutely too much into the words. It is asking about ABUSE. 2 puffs is not abuse of anything. Getting drunk once in your life does not make you an alcoholic. 2 cigarettes does not constitute a life long addiction to tobacco. They want to know if you have a problem with something. They want to know if there is some pre-existing medical condition they need to know about. That's the way you approach these questions. It is not hard.

Hello there,

Just looking through my medical questionnaire, and I have some rhetorical questions...

If you puffed on a joint in college once or twice, should you say "yes" to drugs and tobacco and explain thats all it was a long time ago at a party?

If you got too drunk at a party once and ended up taken to hospital as a precaution, should you say "yes, I went to hospital and yes I have abused alcohol"

I know you have to be 100% honest, but man, I feel pretty bad having this questionnaire and thinking its going to look a lot worse for things that happened 5 years ago when I was a bit more foolish and made the same "rookie" mistakes a lot of us make in life.

Confused, :help:

Just answer NO to those questions relating to past drug or alcohol use, you dont want to implant any ideas into the interviewer mind or the person examing you that will give them a reason to decline your application

If you answer yes though to a question, how much of an explanation should you give as a supplemental?
