Visa Approved now gone from Ready to Administrative Processing

My fiancée had her and her sons visa approved at the interview on October 7. The interview went well with a white paper issued and no 221g and we expected to see the visa in about 10 days which is average for Ho Chi Minh Consulate.

The CEAC website said Ready for a number of days and then on October 15 now says Administrative Processing.

For those who have passed and gotten their K-1 visas, is this the normal procedure to go Ready->Administrative Processing->Issued? Did others see this on the CEAC website with your visa?

Or is this further background work because Vietnam is a high risk fraud country?

We have been lucky getting out of The Black Hole of Texas in less than 200 days and got to the interview in 50 days after NOA2. I just don't want to live through another Black Hole in government processing

Any advice or past experience is appreciated

Kyle was asking about Vietnam-specific info. I think it was a good question, as I will want to know (and now I do). Stick with the Philippines forums and member -perhaps they could use your advice and wit.

Regardless of what country it's normal. I'll answer what questions I chose,thanks. You don't to get to decide that.

As far as wit, yes I do know and understand much about the process...not just the Philippines. If you are referring to the first sentence...it was included only so they know it's asked alot and not to be concerned not out of sarcasm.

Op....it will go like this 99 percent of the time. When you see that on the CEAC website it changes from immigrant to nonimmigrant expect issued very soon, usually less than a week. WillandYen feel free to ignore this answer since you don't appreciate the help.

Relax gents you guys are both good guys. WillYen, this really didnt seem too VN specific to me, nor is it in the VN regional forum either....albeit a lot of threads need to be started appropriate in them.

I posted several threads, i was immediately able to search for, that all seemed like minded and none seem to really have anything do w/ anything country specific and nothing in the OP indicated anything that could really suggest as such except speculation, so I think shauneg was well in his right regardless...and was relatively accurate. Hug it out.

Guys thanks for all your input. I hope its Ready - AP - Issued is where we are. However.....

There is a step in Vietnam we discovered that we missed. After approval they give you a general piece of paper to write your address on of where you want the visa sent. Since my fiancée has had a B1/B2 visa before she looked at this and assumed the visa would be sent like before with no further action required.

What we missed however are some key instructions on the piece of paper. The key paragraph in the paper said "Please IMMEDIATELY visit the website www.traveldocs.com or contact the Call Center at (......) to register your address for the delivery of this service. If you have a problem you may call the Call Center for assistance. (key part here) You must register or your visa will not be delivered. Failure to register in a timely fashion will delay visa delivery."

Hmmmmm this seems to be important; no wonder we have no visa in 10 days where the average for Ho Chi Minh City is like 5-7 days.

My fiancée met a lady who does a lot of K-1 visa processing in HCM and she was able to get in and register (I looked and could not find where) for us. We will see if that is the issue since if you miss a step or documents, you get put in Administrative Processing

2) It slowed the Ready-AP-Issued (typical process after interview approval)
