I saw the South beach diet discussed here but I wondered if anyone else here is on Weight Watchers. I've been a lifetime member for years but stopped going and started really eating when Richard came here. He is an amazing cook and truth be told I love to eat. But now about 30 lbs heavier :help::crying::ranting::oops: , my clothes don't fit and were are beginning to plan our November trip to St. Maarten (Richard got his GC yesterday.)

I went to my first meeting on Sat and have been following the diet religiously......

any other WW's out there ???????????????????????

I did their no-counting plan for a few months last fall - I lost bout 10 pounds, but I found it WAY too restrictive. Since then all I do is just count calories and since I stopped WW I've lost another 15. The last 10 are really giving me a hard time now though :(

I tried their no counting plan (Core Plan) but it didn't work for me. The good old fashioned points plan always seems to do the trick. But for some reason I have to go every week (or month when I make goal) to lose/keep off the weight. I think it's because I'm very goal oriented and the weigh-ins keep me on track for the goal. No matter what "plan" you use to lose weight we all reach a plateau where we get stuck for a while.

Any advice for the plateau - I've started doing cardio 3 - 4 times per week for about 45 minutes, but still the scale hasn't budged for two weeks :( my mother seems to think I don't need to lose any more weight, but I am sooooo frustrated!

I found this plateau

I always found that eating chicken or fish as my food choice (rather than beef/pasta dinner) helped the dreaded plateau.

Good luck

I'm a Weight Watcher member of 54 weeks, have lost 54.4 lbs so far. I love the program, it is very easy to follow. Since you were Lifetime you know what I mean. Wish you luck with reaching any goal you have set. Skinny vibes to you!

54.4 lbs...AWSOME !!!!!!!! I sit here at lunch eating my Smart Ones lunch :hehe: and wonder if you've seen this website: Dotti's.

If you tool around it is a wealth of info....especially where it gives all the points for the restaurants food.

I have 15 pounds to get to my WW goal (no fee) but I need really to lose 25-30 lbs to look OK on the beach.

My mom has does Weight Watchers, and many other plans. I think this is her third time doing Weight Watches, and she is going very good. She has lost about 30 or so pounds. She's just about at her goal weight. In the past she wrote everything she ate down, and she did not do well. Now she just eats smaller portions, and she is doing very good. I've seen my mom struggle with her weight for years, so I always tell her how proud I am of her.

I'm on WW as well... I finding it humbling to stand on the scale in front of someone else. :( A couple weeks ago I GAINED 3.5 lbs... apparently being very sick for 3 weeks and taking loads of antibiotics and stuff is NOT good for you :hehe: I thought since I was not eating much... Oh well, I have now lost that extra wieght gain!!! YAY

Can the Naturalizatin process be so painless?!!

I am watching my weight increase, does that count? :P

  Yeah .. that's weight watching too!!

I'm with you there jasman. I've been wanting to shed some pounds (although my sons insists I don't need to) but just have not had the will power to do something with Weight Watchers. My mother-in-law is in it and she really likes how much weight she has lost so far. Now that the weather is warming up here, maybe it is time for me to stop watching my weight go up and start doing something about it.
