Panicing--someone please advice

My fionce recieved her packet 3 from mumbai consulate on the 14th and mailed it out on the 19th, i have been calling the department of state everyday to see if the consulate has recieved it and they say they havent. what could have happened, it has almost been 3 weeks since she mailed her packet 3 to the consulate.

How did she mail the packet - normal post, registered or courier? Three weeks is NOT NORMAL even for India!

Did you check the website interview dates just in case? To make sure her name isn't on the list?

In any case, it doesn't sound good - because they said they didn't receive it yet!

If I was in her shoes, I might just mail off another set of documents to the Consulate, just in case. (Copy of the checklist and forms with origional signatures again). Sent by some reliable courier.

Don't you hate DELAYS - our file sent to the Chennai Consulte was instead sent to Delhi and online tracking now says "Temporary delay in transit" grrr.

First of all you need to breathe and stop panicking! Give it another few days before you call and then see if the consulate has it or try emailing the consulate.

They might have gotten it, but it might be sitting in the mail room so it just hasn't been processed.

To be honest, I'd be freaking out too...but it won't help any that's for sure. Good luck!!

I hope at least she's using a trackable mailing service, otherwise it'll be hard to find where your package is..... good luck.

I would go with what ELW said and resend your documents by a traceable method of delivery. Good luck
