A guy was sent a 100 Euro note in Venezuela.. Dollars and Euros are in such short supply in Venezuela that their value has become amazing. Combined with the heavy government control on prices it is crazy how far that money will go.. He decided to splurge and live like a king for a month. He put an ad on craigslist to sell the 100 Euro note and this is what he got in Bolivars:

So what did his 100 Euros (about 115 Dollars) get him in Venezuela?

- An apartment for an entire month $13.70

- A night at five star a luxury hotel $9.93

- A plane ticket to visit another area of Venezuela $9.00

- The lease of a restored 1956 Cadillac to drive back $3.40

- 34 crates (238 bottles) of bear $12.34

- Three grams of Cocaine $5.72

- Twenty Grams of Weed $8.00

- Dinner at five top rated restaurants $10.26 (that's for all five meals and drinks combined)

- two hour massages and acupuncture at the finest parlor in town $2.86 (went three times)

- Filled the tank of 32 cars (everyone in his building) $3.00 (gas is under a penny a gallon)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

06/29/2015 - fingerprint fee accepted.
06/30/2015 - Received text & e-confirmation of NOA. Case received & routed to USCIS National Benefits Center
07/06/2015 - NOA1 received.

07/13/2015 - Biometric letter arrived mail box. Date 07/24/2015

07/24/2015 - Biometric done. One month mark

08/29/2015 - EAD approved

09/03/2015 - EAD card mailed

09/04/2015 - EAD approval mail in mail box

09/08/2015 - EAD card received.

09/09/2015 - Applied for SSN.

09/15/2015 - Got my SSN in the mail

04/14/2015 - Update online: Your interview has been scheduled for 05/19

Caracas has fallen to #2 if you want to trust the numbers...

This guy only spent one day in Caracas.. With this type of economic disparity more and more violent crime is inevitable.

Yes,

This article is quite scandalous... However, I ask the original writer of the article, and brave man... what is the price of your life? $115 ?

It is very risky to got to Venezuela for this kind of "tourism", I would only do it if I could add a 2-4 bodyguards to come keep me safe while I enjoy spending my $100...

Clearly this guy did not depict the true reality of what is going on in the country right now... so if you are getting any ideas from that article to come be a tourist in Venezuela, I advice that you first do just a little bit of research on the crime rate down there.
