Birth Certificate copy or original?

Hello

I am an F1 student married to USC. We are about to send our AOS packet. Do I need to send a copy of my foreign Birth certificate with self done English translation(it says so in I485 instructions).and just bring the original on the date of interview? What about marriage certificate and USC's Birth Certificate?

You have to send a copy of your foreign birth certificate along with the original translation in English. You cannot self translate your own document. It can be done by anyone (other than the beneficiary and the petitioner) who is fluent in English and your foreign language. For i485 only (with approved i130), you don't need the copy of marriage certificate and USC's birth certificate.

This is confusing as any people have translated their BC themselves and have succeeded the interview.

arken is mistaken. You can translate your own documents, and indeed dozens of people have posted here saying they did exactly that without issue.
