My husband had his CR1 visa interview today at the Johannesburg consulate. Everything went well and ultimately he was approved, but he needs to resubmit his birth certifcate. We submitted the Nigeria federal birth certifcate, but they want the state one. They said once he submits that they will issue the visa. :content: I am so relieved! It's been a long process. Has anyone ever had to resubmit documents to this consulate? If so, did the process move along once they got the document they needed?

I was in the Same boat as you but in Pakistan.

First of all congratulations. I took me very long to submit the required documents. By the time I did it had been over 6 months, so I had to re submit the medical exam too. My advice respond as quickly as you can. Many documents can run out of validity specially the medical exams and vaccinations ( the last only 6 months). I submitted the medical on Oct 13th this month. And they updated the case on Friday 16th saying Visa issued.

Do not over think it. And hopefully your case will be processed very very soon.

My husband returned to the Consulate today with the extra birth certificate as requested and all they did was say that they would call him...what should we do now? Case status still says AP, but it was updated with today's date. Should I start calling/emailing the consulate for updates?
