Mexico Post NOA2

I was notified at the end of July of our NOA2 approval and sometime later in August that it had reached the consulate in Mexico. I'm waiting on my fiance to get her passport, but was just trying to figure out what the last couple of steps are and I'm seeing some conflicting information. I believe i have all of the paperwork I need for her to take to the interview, but what exact steps do we have left when she has her passport in hand? This is what I'm seeing, but I'm not seeing the same information in multiple places so I want to make sure I have it straight:

-Have to fill out the DS-160 online. (this is her information as the one getting the visa, not my information as the US Citizen petitioner, correct?)

-Have to schedule 2 appointments: 1 biometric appointment at some ASC and then the actual consular interview?

-Have to schedule a medical exam. And it sounds like this MUST be done by some specific clinics up in Juarez where the consulate is?

I saw some information about that she was supposed to receive some packet from the consulate in the mail sometime after they received the application. But she never has received anything. But then i saw that all necessary forms should be filled out online. So I'm confused if we are missing something here.

Any guidance on these last couple of steps would be appreciated. We really want to get this wrapped up. Hoping she gets an appointment in Hermosillo to get her passport in the next week or so and we can finish it up.

Thanks!

Brian

When she fills out DS 160 online and makes the payment, she will get the option of scheduling the interview and the biometrics appointment.

Once interview has been schedules she will have to call Clinica Medica Internacional (recommended, across the street from consulate) to schedule the medical exam one or two days before the interview, schedule the earliest in the day as possible so she can pick up her medical packet that same day; she can do biometrics, which takes about 10 minutes, the same day she does the medical exam.

As far as the packet, you are talking about the instructions letter which should have been sent to the petitioner as well, it is not an actual packet, she may not get it due to the postal service in Mexico not been the greaters. If you received it, scan it and email it to her, or she can go to the consulate's customer service and ask for a copy the day she arrives.

There is no actual packet. Juarez just sends a letter. The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You do not have to wait for the letter to begin filling out forms and scheduling appointments. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-160. if you do not receive it before going to Juarez, you can get the letter printed out from the information window at the consulate before going to your medical and appointments.

Thank you guys. That is helpful. I have the letter that was sent from the Consulate that says "YOU MUST BRING THIS LETTER WITH YOU" and has the websites to fill out the DS-160, etc, so I guess we're good there. One other thing as I was looking through the things I need to make sure she has with her, what EXACTLY do they want from my bank? That is something I still need to get. They just want statements for a year, or what?

Thanks again,

Brian

I'm in a similar position to the original poster, and feeling very overwhelmed with what to do (or not do) next.

Should we compile all of the needed forms and then complete the DS-160 and schedule an interview? Or do we complete the DS-160 now, schedule an interview, and continue to compile things in the time until our interview date?

Additionally, what do we do about obtaining police reports from Mexico? And he lived in the US in the past, so will we need US police reports--and if so, how do we get them?

I am so excited that we're at this point, but goodness, how I wish it didn't have to happen right in the busiest time of the semester.
