I had my interview in the montreal consulate and passed it quickly. I am a canadian citizen and my husband is american. I was born in south america before emigrating to canada.

We've contacted his senators office and they contacted the consulate. The senators office was sent a letter which states that there is a still administrative processes to be completed on our file. This letter was sent to us at the end of september and our interview was mid july.

Is there anything else we can do...can we push his senators office to get them to hurry up. I understand why the administrative process should be taking so long at the consulate...shouldn't this had been done at the NVC?

We are getting pretty down because of this.

You are in AP there is no estimated time. No NVC doesn't investigate anyone. They merely collect our documents and make sure they are accurate. All you can do is wait.

Did they give you a 221g form after interview or anything?

We weren't given a 221g form. I was told that I had passed the interview and given the "Welcome to the United States" letter. In the letter we got from the consulate via. the senator, they also stressed that we didn't need to send in or do anything additionally.
