Like most things with this visa process, I'm a bit confused.

My partner doesn't actually earn enough at the minute to be my sponsor but her mother earns multiple times over the poverty line.

We were just going to use her mother as my sponsor but having spoke to the DOS yesterday, they said my partner has to be the primary sponsor as she is the petitioner for me.

Should I take two lots of forms filled out, one by her mum and another by her.. hoping that will cover me between them?

Nick very kindly replied to another post of mine and mentioned I may not even need a support, why would that be?

I thought I replied that an affidavit of support from the mother would be enough to satisfy London as they have done that a number of times in the past, ie Mother submits I-134 and fiance does not have to. Yes, you will need somebody to do an affidavit of support for you unless you have enough assets/savings to self-sponsor. But London will not insist that your fiance MUST do an I-134 as sponsor since not enough income, which is contrary to what DOS told you and what some other embassies might require.

Correct, even if your partner does not make enough he will still be the primary sponsor and submit Form I-134, the joint sponsor who makes well over the poverty guidelines will also submit a Form I-134 and required documents.

Nick very kindly replied to another post of mine and mentioned I may not even need a support, why would that be? Not sure who Nick and why Nick would mention you may not need a support.

Your partner still has to fill out the I-134 but on top of that, your cosponsor will have to fill one out as well.

Not true for an I-134 London. They will accept it from the Mom only, in lieu of the fiance. He misunderstood that he needs at least one.

Nich-Nick is someone who knows to ins and outs of London because she has read every post in this UK FORUM for the last 2570 days. She has a pretty solid grasp of what has been allowed in London because people report their experiences in the UK FORUM.

Not an I-134 for London. Yes if it was I-864. London wants a financial sponsor but it does not have to be the fiance. Edited by Nich-Nick
