New here,

We have been waiting for almost one year on a 221g Refused Visa from Havana, Cuba.

I know this is the Philippines blog, but your are discussing 221g, so I thought I would post here.

As the petitioner, in California I have been the paper chaser, and long story short as of Oct. 28th 2015, it will be ONE year

since his I129 was approved.

I feel that his file got caught up in the transitioning of the U.S. Interest office becoming an Embassy, and other things happened as well.

I received an email from Cuba stating that my Beneficiary was a " Woman"??, the name was wrong,

They called my Fiance my "Husband" in an email............. we are NOT married yet.

His File has gone from California to NVC to Cuba

Back on the 221g Refused to USCIS California, first stops at NVC in New Hampshire.

Then USCIS sent his file back to Cuba stating "No Jurisdiction" because his 90 day Visa expired??

Then NVC confirmed with me that they sent it back to Cuba on Sep. 11th,

The Consulate responded to my email that they DO NOT HAVE his file, that's it .......ONE sentence, no explanation what so ever.

NOW I get a call from my local Congress Woman's office (who has been helping me) that his file went to VERMONT

in error, instead of California?? and it is now back in California awaiting REVIEW??

and I am suppose to be notified by Oct. 23rd upon USCIS review.

I called today, and at this moment waiting for a call back from USCIS California (higher tier officer)

They said 30 minutes, it's been 60 now.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.

I already postponed my trip back to Cuba awaiting this response.

We are stuck in Limbo and can not make any plans to go forward.

Our plan B is to get married in Cuba, ...........however, it's not that easy.

I have already certified translated my 3 docs in Spanish, and got the Apostille stamps from the state of Calif.

$500.00 I spent on that..............part B. is the Cuban Embassy in D.C. wants $176.00 per doc in english and spanish

plus $40 if you mail your forms, comes close to $1100.00.

I told my Fiance I would rather postpone my trip and wait to hear from USCIS, than

spend more money.

This whole process has been unbelievable, but........I must say if you are truly in Love you remain diligent and you don't give up,

you try & try, because if you believe in someone, and in your hear you feel it is right, then the least you can do is try, right?

Hoping that none of you have to go through this.

Best Wishes!

Bell

I am sorry you are having so much trouble with your case. It might be best to make plans to get married. I know it is very expensive. I do not even know how much I spent in total to get married to my husband in Cuba, but it was a lot. One other fee you are going to want to check on is the fee that you will be charged in Cuba at their "courthouse" for the marriage license to get married. I think we paid about $800 in Cuba for the marriage license. My husband said it was slightly higher for me because I am American, so if you are from Cuba, it might be a little less expensive. You will definitely want to be a hundred 100% sure you have all the documents that Cuba will require. When you bring your documents in for your marriage license, they review everything and then let you know if you have everything needed and if you will receive approval for the license. I was so nervous for this part because once I was in Cuba, it was virtually impossible to get any documents if they said I was missing something. Good luck with all! I hope that you and your Fiance are together soon.

Thank you DeAnna for your input.

Yes, I am aware of the fees for Plan B.

I am checking my email, regular mail every day for news.

In my email all I got from the Consulate Office in Havana was ONE sentence "We will contact your Fiance" that's it.......no news, not telling me anything.

USCIS has touched his case again & I can see online that they sent out the notification to me on Oct. 16th, so anytime between today 10/20 and 10/23/15.

Getting nervous because one year is up on Oct. 28th.............

Will keep posting the outcome.

Thank you.

Me and my fiancee have been waiting since my last interview in Dec14. They neither rejected or expired my case but still says that it is under security checks and they are not aware how long it will take.

Please keep me update about your case.
