We hoping to do the Texas TwoGether pre-marital counseling. There is one program that is a group of couples in one day, so it looks fun! It saves $60 on the Texas marriage license, so you only need to pay the county fee, which makes it only $21 and cuts out the 72 hour waiting period.

If we can get into that class (I already reserved a spot, but I need to make sure I can have that day off from work) then I think that certificate will be great evidence in the AOS and a good way to expose my guy to other American couples too.

OP, are marriage licenses cheaper outside of your county? Maybe you can drive to a nearby county to do that? But look at the cost of travel to see if that's worth it!

Just be sure that those benefits are available to non residents. K1s are not yet considered residents for this purpose in Florida according to a friend. Perhaps Texas is different

seems like they are cheaper but my fiance said that we would have to pay more money for gas which will bring the price up to around the amount of what we will need to pay here anyways.
