EXPIRED 2yr conditional Green Card (split thread)

I have the same situation as the topic here. I was just assuming my green card expiration was when I received my green card. I was just stupid to not think that they have approved it before I received it and that that would've been the start date of my conditional status and same as for the expiration but 2 years after. I'm about 2 months late for my application. I'm hoping "lubangtam" will respond on this because I would really like to know if she got denied of her application, which, I'm hoping not. I'm hoping you can give me some advise as to what you wrote as an excuse and what else you had to do to get it approved.

Thanks so much!

Missing filing date for ROC is a BIG thing. You can attempt a late filing but they may not accept it ( a decision they will make after they accept your money )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Correct, you will have to present some very good reasons for filing late, based on those they will determine if they will accept your application. Might make sense to talk to an immigration attorney about this.

I never did. I guess I got too excited when I received it. Anybody here had the same situation who got approved anyway?

What do you mean you were 2 months late?

There's a 3 month window leading up to your expiration to apply. Did you miss that 3 month window and not apply till 2 months after your expiration?

And you never received the letter from USCIS prior to the expiration of your GC, telling you that you must file I-751 to remove conditions? And then I am pretty sure this is also mentioned in the first approval letter after your AOS, apart from the expiry date printed right there on the card. It just seems very strange to miss all this. The only thing you can do is file asap, and give them a very good explanation for the late filing. And I believe "I didn't know" or "I forgot" will not be good enough. Good luck anyway.
