Hi all,

Just a quick question:

My Case Status was updated to Ready on the 8th October, I assume this was the embassy receiving my Medical which was undertaken on the 2nd October. Today the 'status updated' date changed again from the 8th to the 13th October. Does this mean that my interview has been scheduled and a letter sent?

I am being processed in London if this helps at all.

Many thanks all,

Tom

If I am wrong some one else with correct....K1 visa you need to schedule your interview ....ready means your interview is ready to be schedule.

I believe this is the case with Canada however in London the interview date is provided for you by the embassy once they have received the results of the Medical, the DS-160 and notification of applicant readiness form.

It might mean that. The CEAC is not a good indicator for London. People often guess, like you, what an update or lack of update means and it isn't a consistent thing you can count on. You are about due an interview letter. Did you look at the London Medical to Interview thread to see how long it has taken people this year? That's another way to guess when your interview will be.

I have had a look but that doesn't always seem consistent either! Nothing about this process seems consistent but it is just something we have learnt to deal with!

I did email the embassy on the 8th to ask them about a possible expedite, I wager my chances are pretty slim based on the reason given but I haven't given up hope until I am told that it has been declined!

Hi Tom, I am a few days behind you in the process in London... I had my medical on the 6th and my case was updated today on the CEAC website... I'm guessing it means they have my medical results as I submitted my Applicant Readiness form nearly three weeks ago and that would be the final piece of the puzzle...

Anyway, in answer to your question I think you can call the NVC again as they may be able to tell you your interview date if it's been scheduled. If you read this link through:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

It gives you the complete step by step guide with what's going on, and suggests that this change of status means they've scheduled your interview. In the original post about getting your interview date it says you can call the Department of State but later on in the thread this is corrected and tells you to call the NVC. That's what I'll be getting my fiancé to do (since he's in the states and won't be charged for the call) once my status is updated again!

Sorry for blabbing on a bit but I hope this helps a bit!

Hannah

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Exactly the reason for the listing of how long it took everybody from medical to interview...to show you it varies from case to case and nothing is consistent.

If you emailed the embassy, CEAC will update for that. So maybe your email or maybe an interview getting scheduled is what your update was.

Ahh bummer.

I was hoping that it was an interview letter and not an email update. I guess I'll see over the next few days.

I've emailed and had a reply before without an update on the CEAC though. I don't know why I use that thing honestly... Oh well, if I do get an interview letter perhaps I'll buy a lottery ticket too whilst I have a bit of luck.

Thanks,

When I did K1, there was no CEAC. Once you left USCIS with a NOA2, you just waited. I swear people were not so emotional and stressed. It seems like having more resources makes people crazier. It will happen soon.

If you haven't received a letter in the next couple of weeks I would contact them. My interview letter didn't arrive. Luckily I messaged them and was told it had been scheduled for ten days time. But do give it a couple of weeks.

What means did you use to contact them? Email? If so, which email address and how quick was the response?

If I've not heard a peep from them by the 26th October then I'll drop them an email and see what is going on.

I am acutely aware that some people did not receive a letter from the embassy and I would prefer for this not to be me if possible!

Thanks for the help all.
