Born and raised American, but have been serving in the military since 92 so spent a lot of time living overseas.....things that bug me about the US when I'm there:

1. The beer. It sucks compared to other countries. Even Turkey has a national brand beer that's better than what we make.

2. Driving on interstates. Americans don't take it serious. It's a huge deal if someone's in the left lane (passing lane - right lane in left side driving nations) without passing anyone in foreign nations. In the US you see this all the time. Grrrr.

3. Strip malls & chain stores. So common in the US that you really can't tell the difference between a city in California and one in New York. They will both have the same crappy fast food joints, same crappy shopping retail stores... Applebees, Kohls, Walmart, Chilis, Bad Bath Beyond, Texas steakhouse, lonestar, etc.

Things the US gets right that other nations lack:

1. Football. How can anyone watch soccer? zzzzzzz

2. Personal space. Stand in line at lunchtime at a foreign store with a line. The person behind you will be bumping into you and breathing on your neck. And that reminds me, they cut in line. Do that in America is it's gonna be a problem.

3. Dinner time. The restaurants open so late. #######? I'm hungry at 5 or 6!

The beer sucks? There are hundreds of options now. Yes, Bud, Miller, Coors suck but there are plenty of excellent beers. Nowadays Sierra Nevada, New Belgium (the maker of Fat Tire), and Sam Adams can be found pretty much anywhere in the USA. I'd take American beer any day over Efes too.

One upside to soccer is it is 90 minutes long. Even with half-time and injury time thrown in, it's under 2 hours long. I'm a football fan, but sometimes it is frustrating that it is a 3+ hour time suck.

It's in the baking section around here.

I've seen soy, almond, rice etc but no normal milk. When we asked at Safeway they looked at us like we were crazy, and told us that was all they had. It's all we've seen in other stores as well. So if you have an actual lead or brand name, I'd love to hear it...maybe it's just not in California?!

When you are watching a flim....lets say Jurassic Park at 12pm on AMC and they cut the good bits out!!! Whats the point of watching Jurassic Park if you can't see the gory parts. Swearing on T.V....They will happily show you someone getting shot but OH no you can't swear on T.V. The sales tax is annoying but you get used to it. Me living in California...I love the fact I can watch NFL from 10am to 8pm on a Sunday :-) #TITANUP. Also people another frustrating thing is where you have a car going 60mph in the car pool lane when there the rest of the freeway clear.

Errr, plenty of milk from cows in California. We're the leading dairy state (more than Wisconsin). Ralphs, Vons (which is Safeway) and Albertsons all have own-brand regular and organic milks, and some name-brand milks are Horizon, Organic Valley, Alta Dena and Clover. I think Safeway brand dairy is Lucerne. More likely whoever you spoke to was an idiot!

Just curious whats bothers you regarding them? How they are spelled and pronounced where they aren't even American/english? Brands are oftentimes non nonsensical words. These brands likely originated in their native countries.

Yes they are, so?
