We married 2 weeks ago and we send the marriage licence signed by the notary to the court.I understand that the certificate must be registered and then a copy will be send back, and after that i can apply for SSN and AOS.The problem is that it's taking too much time, and i have to be back in my country in no more than 2 months from now,and if things are going so slow i dont know if i'll be able to reach biometrics in 2 months so i can leave USA.(with travel document).

So i have some questions, for people who started AOS process in Florida:can a apply for AOS after or before SSN?Can i send a copy of marriage licence in AOS packet or it is required to send the original?

Is the "marriage licence" we send to the court same as the "marriage certificate"?(meaning that they send "the marriage licence" and this is in fact the marriage certificate?(people who gone through this know what i'm talking about)).

I'd appreciate any help.Thanks.

You came here on a K1 visa right? My understanding is you can only use that once to enter the US. If you have to leave the country while your AOS is pending, you can apply for an Advance Parole (I assume this is what you mean when you say you have travel doument). We submitted the marriage license for our AOS application, not the marriage certificate. The marriage license has all the notary/legal prints on it, while the certificate is just a keepsake that you can frame.

Unless it is an emergency you are probably not going to get your advanced parole in time.

We are in Florida, and I sent off the AOS paper work before getting the SS card / number. No issues with the USCIS. As already said... If you have to leave the country while waiting on AOS adjustment you need to fill out the form for Advance Parole for travel.

We were married in Florida. My husband had his restricted SS card with temporary work permit before AOS application sent for all the good that did. You can wait for that. Your marriage license/certificate that you're speaking about is the notarized form that you have to have signed at the marriage ceremony, or reasonably thereafter. It's all the same paper, at least here in Florida, with the only difference being that once the state verifies it's all correct, the state seal is then applied, which can be done in person at many courthouse branches in Florida. We took our notarized form to our nearby branch and within 10 minutes had the original stamped document. They give you a free one as a wedding gift. :goofy: We sent that one with our AOS after making a few photocopies, and then ordered another one. GOOD LUCK~!
