OP- I don't think the entire family going at once is the best unless they have lots of ties. I'd probably suggest mom and dad go first and test the waters esp since they would have to come back as they have a minor kid. Then have the oldest daughter go alone- she has a bit on longevity due to the job.. Does the dad have a farm? Do they have a decent amount of money in the bank? Is there any specific reason they want to vacation in the US?

I want say what i want to say because my post will only get erase, but BOILER, KLWAN, and SAN DIEGO im glad you guys arent C/O at Kingston embassy because it seems your minds are already made up about Jamaicans.

I don't think Boiler was saying anything negative-just asking if that's the normal pattern for vacations. I'm surprised your post has stayed up so long. It seems as soon as Jamaica is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind is oh it's a high fraud country. While people from actual high fraud countries can actually get answers without that being thrown at them. I understand that there are fraudulent cases that are reported but i haven't seen where they are fax in excess of any other country.

I am totally agree with u,being a third world country and u want to visit one of world top country, does not make sense.its will b 100 % rejected.i am also agree with Boiler .dont try to waste there time and money . Sorry to say Jamaica and phillipines are high fraud country that people coming to us by doing marry to come .

Pakistan is the highest fraud & you know, thats place on the list

very rare a Jamaican goes into AP over 90 days, while they do up

to yrs, please get the facts not all 3rd world countries are offering

up fake degrees and paying to marry someone to get in, yes some

lie about wages to get B1 visas & Phillipines are much less

fraud than Pakistan.

The OP asked for info not for others to sling mud, keep moving

if insult is all there is to offer, the forum is for help to everyone from

every country, being honest without insults is the decent thing to do.

Yes OP only mentioned cars, but a veggie seller in JA likely leased or

own a farm

The airfares alone would be crippling to this family.....how will they explain why they wish to essentially wipe out their life savings for a trip to Disneyworld?

Are u serious, how do you know what will wipe some one life savings out, do you know how much savings they have.

Based on the limited information given, we can use the powers of reading comprehension to infer a few things.

1) The OP mentions the wife works as a housekeeper. The husband is a veggie seller AND a taxi driver. We can infer someone who owns a sizeable farm would not need to be working a second job as a taxi driver.

2) Family and cars are the only ties mentioned. Nothing about owning a house, owning property, owning a business.

3) The OP stated they actually told the family they need to show more ties to Jamaica - we can infer this means the ties listed (family and cars) are the only ones worth mentioning.

These are things that were deduced based on the info provided by the OP. If they are not true, OP is free to ignore the advice given. Don't understand the need for people to get defensive over general observations and sidetrack the entire thread.

The fact that most people felt this family can't afford such a vacation is exactly the point many have been trying to make - that as it stands right now, it does not appear they have sufficient ties to get approval.

If we are thinking this, then it's obvious a CO will be thinking it too - considering their job is to assume everyone is entering for immigration purposes until they prove otherwise.

Blunt opinions are part of an open forum. Why so sensitive.

Do you have a personal connection to this situation?

NO, i just dont assume people are poor by there job description , and insultings ones family by telling them they will be crippling there family buy paying air fare.

Have you ever met someone who voluntarily work 2 jobs even though he makes enough on just one? Not even a workaholic would do that.

Well not these types of jobs.

A person with a cab/ passenger-car/taxi in Jamaica is seen as one of affordable means

due to that being a very lucrative biz in JA...Many with jobs of all description

sees the taxi end as a money maker...anyways I understand many JAs are issued

visa to visit daily with no property ownership.

I think everyone from every country can qualify on their own merits and don't need

ppl on a forum to encourage a region of the world while putting down others. Posters

just need honest decent facts, not malicious comments, and by some comments we

realize the true feelings of some.

Have a nice day ppl

The proposed trip on a B2 visa must make sense from the financial perspective of the applicants. If the cost of the trip is disproportional to their income, then the CO will likely wonder (a) why someone would want to spend such a sum and (b) if that person is really going to try and find another way to pay for the trip, by working without permission while in B2 status...and if the CO has doubts, guess what the outcome of the interview will be?
