Im just trying to see what I will have to get myself into. My fiance recently had her interview at the consulate at Cuidad Juarez, Mexico and according to her the visa interview seemed to go well. A 221g was issued due to documents missing but nothing else was stated. The letter she got in the mail recently says they want her to attend a 2nd interview and they want me(the petitioner) present as well. I've searched the forums and online and I have seen cases of married couples having to attend together but never a K-1 petitioner. Is this rare or common at the Cuidad Juarez Consulate?

with what I have read recently over the months I can say that no matter where the other person is that they want both people there at the interview its a more secure thing for everyone that basically if the person comes then it means both parties are honest and have a real relationship.... :)

When they request the petitioner means its dang serious. Probably a stokes interview may be in order. They aren't inviting you to see you. They are doubting this relationship is real and probably will interview you also. Or maybe they want to see you two together and how you interact.

Was there little time together for you too? Not many visits? short stays?

This post in this pinned thread in this same forum is applicable to K-1 couples as well as CR-1 couples:

You're urged, in the strongest possible terms, NOT to take this lightly.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The visits between both of us have been pretty long. I have been to see her 2 times and both times was roughly almost 1 month in length. She has also been here to the United States to visit on a Tourist Visa. In the tourist visa the nature of the visit stated was to visit me, so i don't think there is any form of fraud to be seen on that note. A little detail about me and her. I am fairly young still, with her being older. We have a 6 year difference in age. I am an African American as well. I also have been blessed by God, to have my own house and my own car as a single young man. I was thinking this may possibly be the leads to the stokes. I kinda expected a stokes based off what i have read but just wanted to get a little more input on the matter. Thank You TboneTx for the link. I will definitely not be taking this interview lightly.
