This for is for application of naturalized citizenship. The scope / perspective of the form is for the applicant applying for citizenship. In this case your wife.

Unless otherwise specified.

Section 8, says Info regarding YOUR marital history. This is your wife.

When it mentions your spouse, this is regarding you.

When it asks how many times has your wife been married, it means literal, inclusive. You two are married. This would definitely be 1, you are currently still married. This remains ONE.

You have been married before. She previously was married. The question I specifically pertaining to you. One plus One equals TWO.

Enter 2 in the box.

It really isn't vague. It clearly says how many times has YOUR CURRENT spouse been married. Per this thread, that seems like you the OP, relative to your wife, the applicant. She was unmarried previously, you were previously married. You are currently married to each other. The answer is 2.

If you can see from the further form fields, they account for previous marriages and even suggest addendum pages for multiple marriages. The balance of the section is already all about your existing marriage, there is no need to further clarify that you should include the existing marriage when asking how many times you've been married. The box's intent is to identify you've been previously married and if multiples to expect addendum pages therefore.

I want to do this right and only one time. Question 8 at page of N400 asks: How many times has your spouse been married? Do I include our present marriage? Married once before.

yes that counts as one!

She has never been married before so that would be 1 for her including her marriage to me right? And, I was married once before so that would be 2 including my present marriage, right? Maybe I'm over thinking it but, the question is a bit vague. Thanks.

This is where you confused people as you didn't say you moved to another question...so it seems as you were still on the same question on the form.

But yes you're right....I haven't filled out that form so I might not be qualified to comment.
