I agree; and you should consider not attempting to introduce their comparison in a logical argument.

If you want to tie the two events, you're more likely to succeed if you find common elements in both, and then point out the similarities.

Back on topic, many skeptics would have dismissed Rosa Park's disobedience to the law as a futile gesture, because one single black woman daring to sit in the front of the bus, would have zero impact on anything.

9-11 was neither a gesture or an individual. Surely you are not serious. That's like comparing the Holocaust to sit in.

I really don't think you are serious

Apparently so, and there are indications it's been a while.

Ok no problem. Being fairly new and after reading the thread, about welcoming new people and people leaving. I decided to stick my toe in the water.

I get it now. Thanks for the insult.

I now understand why people don't stick around.

I wish you well.

There is very little that links this man to 9-11. Shame on you. It was not a "gesture" nor was it an individual. It required an entire network.

You've been around a lot longer than I have, so I am sure you have already noticed that some members here rarely have any valid input on a topic. Rather, they simply snipe at users using clever wording that keeps them off the radar. However, I believe that even though they remain as regular posters, they are 1) not of much value in their everyday life, hence their desire to be internet bullies, and 2) everyone who visits here can see them for who they really are.

Hating on forum members, or the US in general, does not make one a clever person.

Quite possibly because they are told to. If they were to dare think rationally, they would see it for what it is. Fear sells.

Too bad the Edina Monsoon bill never became law. It could wipe out America's debt.

I think it's even more amazing how so many people fall for the fiction having a gun makes them safer when demonstrably the opposite is true.

You're preaching to the choir. It was another poster who suggested a comparison along those lines.

Back to topic: It all starts with one individual, and an idea.

It is amazing how many people think that getting rid of guns in the US will lower the crime rate, even though there is empirical data that proves otherwise that is publicly available for all to see. Perhaps putting one's head in the sand IS a viable solution. For some.

A google search for empirical data related to gun crime largely suggests the opposite of what you posted.

Do you have an actual link the empirical data you are talking about? Your assertion is that there is "proof" somewhere that increasing the number of guns will lower crime rate. I'd really like to see that.

next up, individuals who got abortions are responsible parents......

Well, aren't poor people with large families always criticized for having too many children? One way to prevent said large families is to have an abortion, so ergo having an abortion is something responsible parents do?

It makes me wonder? How could any rational human being compare the heroic actions of Rosa Parks , or a the actions of a father, that although musguided, thought he was saving lives to 9-11.

9-11 was the massacre of 1000's of innocent people by a well organized group of sadistic terrorists.

Being a person who tries to belive in the best of people, I would like to think it was just a poorly thought out analogy and he was not prasing the monsters of 9 -11 or that he did not view them as heros.
