My dad lives in Israel, he contacted me a few days ago and demanded me to go to the israeli consulate and sign a bunch of papers that will give him the power to sell an apartment that both of our names are on. My moms name was on it too but she passed away just a few days before he emailed me. I refused to do his bidding, so he emailed me again and said that he'll write to immigration and tell them all kinds of lies about me if I won't go to the israeli embassy and fax him my signature so he could sell the apartment. My question is this, will the immigration people even read/care about his bullshit? I am worried because I have a new life here and he is trying to screw it for me, I changed my last name but he doesn't know that. Will the immigration people even know who hes talking about cuz hell give them my old last name probably. I haven't dont anything, but he said he'll tell them "who i really am" usign caps lock to make it sound dramatic. He will probably tell them a bunch of lies, I want to know if anyone will read it/and/or care? And if they do can this cause a hardship for me? I got here on a K1 visa by the way, currently I am holding a green card, and am waiting for a removal of conditions. Thanks a lot in advance I really dunno what to do I need some answers.

Tell him to pound sand.

You might want to follow it up with the Israeli authorities too since it's probably a crime (the blackmail).

If I had a penny for every time someone "threatened" a US permanent resident, I'd be rich. Wish him the best of luck in his FAILED intimidation attempt.

Any truth in his allegations?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If anything that he says about you is not true than do not worry, unless, of course, there is any truth to what he says that you should worry about.

Is there a reason you don't want him to sell the apartment? You did say that you already have a new life here, let him sell it and move on, unless you are planning on going back.

I don't understand why he needs it done through the consulate, there is other means of communication in which you can send paperwork, what makes the consulate way so special?

Exactly, I could have signed the papers and faxed him from Kincos. There's no need to go to the Consulate for that. The consulate is in a different state. I can't just drop everything and fly there just cause he wants me to. He can have the apartment I do not care, matter fact when I left he said if things wont work out for me don't come back I won't let ya in. He made it sound like the apartment is his, I didn't know that I have any rights on it until he emailed me a few days ago. He blackmails me over this which means he can pull the same ####### later on in the future over anything. Its hard to say if theres truth to his or not, because he will mix it with his lies. For instance my mother passed away on the 30th, he emailed me and told me about that. I emailed him the same day asking for the funeral date and location, he didn't reply to me until 5 days later. Said the funeral was over, and when he was blackmailing me he twisted it around and said I didn't care about my mom and that it took ME 4 days to reply. Even though it was reversed and it took him 5 I have the bloody email saved in the sent folder. I just wanna know if the immigration people gonna start digging and investigating his accusations or what? He said I used him, but he took me and my mom to Israel when I was 4 and got rid of our Russian passports. He kept his, and now he is receiving dual pension from israel AND russian. If anything shouldn't I be reporting him sheesh. I just wanted some peace.

Should I contact the FBI? Or the Israeli law enforcement office?

You should just ignore it. The FBI has far more important things to do than worry about family bickering. Anyone in the world could email and say bad things about you to USCIC, why don't you wait until after it happens to worry about something that will likely not happen and even if it does end up in the garbage bin.

This. The authorities won't do anything at this point anyway.

USCIS knows that accusations against immigrants are often just domestic squabble BS. It happens all the time. Could USCIS investigate? Of course, but they're certainly not going to suddenly show up and deport you based on a "tip". If you haven't done anything wrong, as you say, you have nothing to fear.

Obviously there's more background to this. Parents don't normally threaten their kids, but regardless, he's probably just trying to scare you. Unless he really is dumb enough to threaten you in writing and then follow through, in which case you have his own words to use against him.

Just tell him the embassy is not going to happen. If he needs something notarized, you can get that done at almost any UPS Store in the country.

Dude this is the letter you should write to your father:

Dad:

BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! And here I thought you never had a sense of humor.

By the way, you cannot do anything to me. I am a legal permanent resident of the USA. The USCIS does not care who you are or what you are claiming about me. What I do know is that you are blackmailing me, and that is a crime in your country. If you do so desire the thought of going to jail, I will be happy to forward your email to the Israeli authorities.

Love,

Your Son

I want to say make sure he never sells the apartment simply because he is trying to blackmail you, but sigh...it is family and its hard to just switch that off.....I agree with everyone else, tell him goodluck and goodbye, enjoy your life without him
