I was approved at my interview on the 25th of August, was asked to mail in some docs, did so almost immediately and the embassy got the papers.

it has been more than 6 weeks after mailing in those papers, my status has been updated like 5 times from the interview date, whenever i e-mail the embassy about case status i get " file with the officer for his review, once we finish our procedures, we will process the case to conclusion" as response.

Any one been through this b4? does the officer take this long to review a file or is this covert AP?

If you have been through this, kindly shed some light. How long were you on wait?

You could wait another two days or another year there is absolutely no definitive timetable. I would expect something within the next month if there's no issues.

Jamaal...where do you go to check the CEAC status? When I google CEAC and go to the site, input my case number it just says "At NVC". My case is closed with NVC. Am I looking in the right place for my case status or is there somewhere else that gives more detailed information?

You check the status on the CEAC website, you are looking in the right place. It shows "At NVC" because your case's file is right now at the NVC, even though your case is complete/closed with the NVC the file will remain with them until you are scheduled for an interview at the Us embassy. A couple of days or a week after you are scheduled for your interview and you get your p4 letter, the status will change to "IN TRANSIT"; that means your case file is on its way from the NVC to the embassy. When it reaches the embassy and is received by the embassy it will change to "READY" for interview. It will remain "READY" untill your interview, after the interview it will change or may not change depending on how your interview goes.

Thank you so much! That makes sense.
