I am so confuse because my case was approved and sent to NVC I checked on ceac.state.gov and give this message:

READY

Immigrant Visa Case Number: LGSXXXXXXXX Case Creation Date: 21-Aug-2015

Status Updated Date: 14-sept-2015

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state..../info_3731.html

Am confused cos my fiance haven`t got any letter yet confirming the case was sent to my consulate. And so far I haven`t got any letter too. What about the packet 3 or 4 that everybody talks about? I have filled DS-160 though not signed yet . What is next? Being a Nigerian? Pls help everyone

hi, im a Nigerian too,and I had similar issue. I sent email to LagosIV and I asked them if they have received our case file, and they sent me a response where the packet 3 was attached, and my fiance printed them out in Nigeria. Pls, don't wait for any official package from them, for it might not come. Mail them today so that you can get a response before the end of tomorrow (Monday) stating your case number, name, beneficiary"name, receipt.number and every necessary information you feel like disclosing to them. Trust me, you don't wanna wait forever lest your vaildity expires. Goodluck...

My pleasure, ask them if the approved petition for (your fiance/fiancee name) has been received by them? So they'll send you 3 attachments one with medical, interview instructions and a pamphlet. But.make sure the email is sent to LagosIV@state.gov and not the NIV, cos the NIV give an automated responses, best wishes...

I am also Nigerian. Once u have received your case #, you go to GTB and pay the visa fee which is 51675 naira and then fill out the DS 160 and submit. Then go to Traveldocs and schedule for your interview. You will need your receipt# from GTB saying you paid and your confirmation number from DS 160 in order to schedule your interview. After you schedule your interview, you can proceed to do your medicals at the two approved locations. Note, you will need your interview appt letter inorder to do the medical.

That means the consulate has your case, but I don't know how interviews in Nigeria are scheduled or if you get a packet 3. For us in the Philppines we do not get a packet and we have to schedule the interview ourselves. It's a good idea to email them and also hope some Nigerian experience come on here to help...
