Pay is better for my husband's job and I don't have to drive 50 minutes away just to grocery shop or get a coffee. Had I known how not fun the blowing snow across the highway was or how scared I'd be on the constant stream of oncoming traffic at 60 mph, especially the trucks...

Also, I miss some of the cultural stuff.

And, it is closer to a big airport which is cheaper for flights and my mother would actually consider buying a house nearby. She can't stand where we live now and we really don't have the space to keep putting her up for 4+ weeks a year.

So, my architect friend's black market wife, the local socialite....

She calls me up in a panic. It's about her troubled daughter. Been sick for 3 weeks, and refuses to go to the doctor. She says that she's worried that her daughter will die. Asks me what to do.

She's busy talking, and not listening. I told her to stop her babbling, and panicking, call 911, and when the paramedics arrive, have her forcibly removed to the hospital. She says ok.

A minute later, she calls me back, asking me to speak to her daughter. While talking to me, the 2 are having a shouting match. I'm like, why are you still on the phone with me? I told you what to do, now go do it!

Once again, she's too busy talking, and not listening.

<sigh> I'm a psychologist now?

I'm going to have to start sending bills out. Maybe it'll put an end to all these calls anytime, anywhere...
